SCARLET LEVAKE… UNH GETS A FIGHTER!

There is a difference between a DREAM AND FANTASY. A fantasy is something you use to make yourself feel good. You put it on and off the shelf depending on your mood. Now a dream is totally different. It’s something you fight for day in and day out. It consumes you, it becomes an obsession. Unlike a fantasy, nothing g gets in the way of a dream… Scarlet LeVake is living the dream because this summer she committed to THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE.

Scarlet Lavake is the most interesting kid I have ever known. That’s because her journey is so much different than any kid I have known. Her work ethic should be made into a movie. Her trust in others is flat out mind blowing in a time when nobody is to be trusted. Maybe this is the reason why she is by far the most improved forward in the Shore by a country mile. She is a risk taker and like all risk takers the reward is always magical if you pay the price. NOBODY HAS PAID THE PRICE LIKE LEVAKE.

When Scarlet LeVake showed up at RBC, I was in shock. I watched video of her and couldn’t believe a kid of her size and talent would walk into lion’s den. She literally would start for every single team in the state, no exceptions. She had to know the all the D1 players at RBC and how they knew the RBC system and the rotation was set. But her parents wanted more than playing time. They wanted organization, development and education. Scarlet is not a great student. She’s a phenomenal off the wall student. They wanted it all for their daughter, the education, the next level coaching, practices and competition. They got it all at RBC and more

You don’t walk into RBC and play right away if you don’t understand how to practice or realize it’s one of the most competitive environments in the country. It’s the home of ALPHA FEMALES and killers. Scarlet LeVake had to learn this. So last season, she played limited minutes. But she did something only a few kids are willing to do. She never complained or made excuses. She just never took a day off, never stopped developing. She never stop being an elite teammate. She never stop being a RBC kid and this is why she will play D1 basketball at UNH.

See kids talk, but some kids work. It why Jen Liggio asked me one day at after school shooting “can I take Scarlet on the other side and work on her post moves?” It’s because she saw something in Scarlet. She truly got the ball rolling for LEVAKE. Then something strange happened. Scarlett LeVake started showing up every day. She would would do point guard school for a hour. Core Skills for a hour. Then go work with MIKE MASON FOR THREE HOURS…. Yes 3 hours everyday, it not an exaggeration it’s a fact. Mike Mason is the post player skill whisper. Nobody is in his world. Together Scarlet LeVake and him made magic. No hype, fake tweets just flat out raw improvement. That translates on the floor on game day..

The fact of the matter is no organization delivers like the SHORESHOTS. There players actually play in college at the D1 level. But what Tracey Sabino and Jen Liggio have done for Scarlet LeVake has been remarkable. They allowed her to grow, make mistakes and evolve into a DIVISION ONE post player. Scarlett. at times was special this summer. She easily was the most improved post player in New Jersey, that I say this summer . She also had D1 schools banging on her door. She is rock star student, so D3 academic schools were truly on the table. But some D1 schools were not. This is the part that most will never understand. This because Scarlet does not allow her EGO to cloud what is important. It’s what allowed her to attend RBC AND BE THE ULTIMATE TEAMMATE. But now her time has arrived and everyone is excited for her.

Do you know Scarlet LeVake’s parents? I don’t, she just a NBS kid to me. Never misses after school shootings and is always around . Yet I have never spoken a word to either parent. This is old school stuff, the things coaches dream about. See Scarlet parents ANGIE and DERRICK LEVAKE are willing to allow there daughter to have a trusting relationship with her coaches. They are willing to let their daughter fight her own battle’s and to work though any adversity.… UNH, Coach Megan Shoniker is one lucky women because parents lime Angie and Derrick Levake have gone the way of the dinosaur. Scarlet LeVake, will fight harder and run though any wall for her teammates and coaches.

This season Scarlet LeVake will play a major role at RBC as either a starter or off the bench. It won’t matter because she is a true teammate. That’s because her impact will be felt. This fall she will live in the gym and out work everyone. Her lessons with Mike Mason throughout the summer will be on full display. When she arrives. on the UNH campus next spring. They will be shocked not only by her Development and preparation… WHAT’S GOING TO IMPRESS THIS MOST IS HER LOVE FOR THE GAME… CONGRATULATIONS TO Scarlett Levac and family
