MADISON KOCIS AND UPENN LET IT ALL WORK OUT!
When people say coaches don’t have favorites, they are not being totally honest. It’s just coaches don’t want to admit they have favorites. In the case of Madison Kocis, I have no problem shouting at the top of my lungs, Madison Kocis is one of my all time favorite people and players. I have a funny feeling Coach Karpell and her staff would agree with me. You see Madison Kocis is made of a steel that is unbreakable. There is nothing she fears and no challenge she will not take on. Be it on or off the court. Madison Kocis is not just a winner on the court she is a winner in life. She is the best decision maker you will meet for someone so young. That’s why she is not just going to one of the best schools in America. She is going to one of the best colleges as well. That’s because MADISON KOCIS HAS COMMITTED TO PLAY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PENN AND ATTEND THE WHARTON SCHOOL

I have known Madison Kocis and her family since she was in 4th grader. I have watched her go from a wide eyed hard working 9 year old to one of the best players in New Jersey. She has achieved this by simply out working the world. The word gym rat is tossed around so easily today. But the fact of the matter is there are kids who work very hard and then there are kids that take it to another level. Madison has taken it to another level. She has done by having a mental toughness and an ability to overcome any type of negativity. When you talk about a kid fighting through adversity, she is the poster child. She has had to deal with haters, the doubters and those who questioned her greatness. She has been asked to make more sacrifices that any great player, I have known. This is because she is humble and does not allow pain and suffering to cause her to lose focus. She simply lets it all work out. She lets it all work out, by out working, thinking and playing the competition.

Madison despite all her greatness, has never been truly crowned. She has done and won everything every step of the way. As a skinny freshman, she was the star of SJV win over RBC in the SHORE CONFERENCE FINAL. It was one of the greatest performances in SCT history. Many believed Madison should have been the FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR. So she settled for All First Team. How did she respond when not winning Freshman fo the year? Let she does everything else, she let it all work out and was grateful to chosen to the All Freshman team. When she was a sophomore, she was asked to come off the bench. Players of Madison’s ability don’t come off the bench. But how did she respond to it. She accepted the role for the benefit fo the teams chemistry. This could not have been easy, but Madison once again, she let it all work out. So last season she went out and became First Team All Shore by every media outlet. See none of this is a surprise. Just like it no surprise she is attending the WHARTON SCHOOL. That’s because Madison Kocis makes everything hard look so easy in the end.

MADISON KOCIS was recruited by every level of D1 schools. From P5(P4) to Ivy League schools. But in the end, once Coach Mike McLaughlin got her on campus it was a wrap. That because you don’t say “NO” to the Wharton School. You don’t say know to a man who trust runs marrow deep. You don’t say “NO” to rock star coaches who treats player as people not just basketball players. Mike McLaughlin is not just a coach, he is mentor and friend to his players long after they stop wearing a uniform. They are few coaches like him left in the business. He takes young women and turns them into successful women. This is his real super power. Both he and Madison are going to form a bond that will last a lifetime.

Few people really know Jaime and Chris Kocis. They really don’t know what they are all about. They are about demanding their children Madison and Morgan carrying their own weight. They don’t believe in handouts or excuses. They want both kids to be accountable always both on and off the court. They demand they respect all and they demand respect back. Chris and Jamie have taught Madison and Morgan that hard work takes care of everything. Jamie is a lawyer and maybe that’s why her kids seem to always make the right decisions. Chris a educator and maybe that why their value education and respect authority. Chris and Jamie have taught both kids about the power of disciple. These days when great players spend all day bragging about rankings, stats, and big name colleges. Let me tell you a little secret. Years ago when Madison was in 7th or 8th grade. Chris told me, he had one goal for Madison, to use basketball to get a great education for his daughter. He didn’t care about the nonsense. He saw the big picture, the one that matters most. Now he and Jamie have helped their daughter to see the big picture and now it has all worked out!

Madison Kocis, will work harder than ever, now that she has ended the recruiting process. She will be laser focused this season. She has developed more and more each year. She has turned her body into college ready. She has stepped up her defense. She is the best post up guard in the state. She can now play all three guard positions with her eyes closed. She is now the true leader of the SJV program. She has won everything in her time, like a SCT, STATE chip. She has played on the biggest of stages and been part of a team ranked Top 5 in the country. She has played at the highest level of AAU. Madison has done it all. Now she will have one more ride at the rodeo. Maybe now the efficient player in the state will finally get her full do. Maybe we will start recognizing her as one the Top 5 players in the state. If not that will be find with Madison because she WILL LET IT ALL WORK OUT AT UPENN…. CONGRATS TO MADISON AND HER FAMILY… NO KID HAS EVERY DESERVED IT MORE!
