THE 2027 EARLY BIRD D1 LIST
Today I will give the 2025 EARLY BIRD D1 LIST. These are players that I have seen at some point and project them to be DIVISION ONE PLAYERS. This list is made up of players from across the state OF NEW JERSEY. There is no question I will miss a few. No bigger example than Abby Misier of Hightstown last year. I clearly miss evaluated her last year. Proving I certainly don’t get them all right. I believe I missed 4 players in total in the 2026 class. I also projected wrongly on 2 players I projected as D1.
Now if a player in the 2027 class does not make the list. It certainly doesn’t mean they’re not a D1 player. Players get better and often schools are looking for a certain type player. So anything is possible.
Please understand there are D1 prospects and D1 locks. A D1 lock is a player that has multiple D1 offers(keyword multiple D1 offers ) or a player I personally know has “STRONG” interest from D1 schools. I do not listen to parents, AAU coaches and outsiders. If I don’t hear it from a college coach, I disregard the conversation regarding D1 offers or projections.
Now underclassmen are tricky because some develop early and stop developing meaning a weak improvement curve. Some are simply crowned and move to social media to create a narrative and hope it sticks. Some receive offers only to find out they’re not real. These are called soft offers, a player shows potential and a coach wants to get in early. So they make an offer and watch the progress. If it goes well they were in the door early. If it goes south they stop recruiting the player. Some underclassmen will fall off and on this list over their 4 years in high school.
WHAT YOU MUST KNOW AND UNDERSTAND
- There are a number of players who belong on this list who I have not seen play
- This list is made up of kids I have seen in New Jersey or at NBS…
- This is not the be all of D1 prospects. These are just the ones I know
- I never call a player D1 unless I see then against multiple D1 Players on the court (out playing a D1 player one night does not make you D1)
5. D1 LOCK – A player with multiple offers on the table or a player I know to be a D1 player and suffers from lack of exposure
This logo is very important when you see it by a players name. It means they are a gym rat. Gym Rats bring added value to the recruiting of a player. Gym Rats have the ability to play a level above their natural ability. They “always” develop and improve your environment. Because the symbol does not appear near a players name. Does not mean they are not hard workers. Many may be gym rats that I simply do not know about

HARPER COHN– POINT GUARD- injured most of last season. Returned and we believe D1 despite the lack of size and not being crowned (see video)

ACADIA WALTERS- POINT GUARD-BISHOP EUSTACE- 5’6″- FUTURE D1 LOCK… college coaches heads up this is a serious steal. Totally under the radar
ABBY STURM- FORWARD- RED BANK CATHOLIC- 6’2”- 1 years old( turns 17 in August) – FUTURE D1 LOCK
ADDISON KEENAN – POINT GUARD- CALDWELL- 5’4”- People I respect and trust say she is a D1 player. For this reason she makes our list. Saw her vs Manasquan in the G2 state final( It would be wise for this young lady to attend NBS).
