The next 3 weeks are big for a lot kids. Let me tell you why. First the high school live Period kicks off. This is big because kids get a chance to play with their high school team where the game resembles more of a college style of play. Next the summer Camp season kicks off and nothing is more important than these first 3 weeks of a players summer development.

The high school live period is so big for so many reasons. But first let say this to college coaches. I firmly believe you must see a kid with there high school team. Unlike AAU it’s more of a team game and the accountability is real. With all that being said every kid, especially seniors on the outside looking in must get prepared. That means fresh legs and good practices leading into the live period. How does a kid do that? First AAU coaches must take a back seat. Meaning do not Interfere with a players high school preparation. Do not ask a player to practice or do anything related to there AAU team. Players and parents must stand up to AAU coaches who try to encourage them to practice. No players should be doubling up on there practices this week. Finally I believe shooting is a must. Why? Because recruiting always comes down to shooting. Do not let anyone tell you different. Kids must ask there high school coaches for gym time to shoot for 30 mins before of after practice. Kids must shoot shots within there high school offense. This is a big week and kids must be focused and prepared. I believe for those kids getting a opportunity to play in the High School live period…. THIS IS YOUR BEST RECRUITING ENVIRONMENT TO SHOW YOUR BEST SIDE AND WORTH
Next the summer camp season kicks off. I believe nothing is better for a players development than camp. CORE SKILLS CAMP kicks off the summer and sets the tone for all kids at all levels. It gets them in a working mindset. That is followed by NBS CAMP. I will just be blunt, no event or basketball environment can raise a kids profile more moving into the live period. Especially those players who are trying to get the attention of college coaches. Finally the BALL HANDLING SHOOTING CAMP is without question the most effective camp I know for kids. There simply is no camp that does more for a players game. This camp in my opinion is a must for all kids are every level. D1 to grammar school. But a player must be willing to put the work in.
In a nutshell, futures are going to get decided in the next 3 weeks. The tone for all kids will be set in the next 3 weeks. There will be lots of excuses made by a number of parents and kids. But there will also be a number of kids and parents starting a great summer and more importantly a productive summer… whatever side of the fence you fall on will be based on your ability to make good decisions… GOOD LUCK.
