AVA FRITH HAS EARNED IT ALL…. NYU BOUND!
It’s taken me around 7 years to learn how to spell AVA FRITH’S name. But I have finally got it right today. Unlike Ava who has been getting things right since the day I have met her. You see Ava Frith is not one for making hurried or bad decisions. She is the type of kid who likes to think things though. She doesn’t make decisions based on hype or to impress others. She just does the right thing. Maybe that’s why she decided to attend the most successful college basketball program in the country NYU.

I have known Ava since she was 5th grade. She was always a hard worker and a nose to the grindstone type. No nonsense, just show up and put her work in. She always gave you a full days work. She was self motivated and smart as in very smart. You see Ava Frith, is one of the most well rounded kids you will ever meet. She takes enormous pride in everything thing she does. Both on the court and off the court. You will be hard pressed to find a kid who is more respectful and focused. You see, Ava has always had goals. Like wanting to attend a great basketball program. But not at the expense of her education. This is why she turned down mulitple D1 offers to attend NYU. She believed she had earned the right to have it all and that’s exactly what she has got or shall I say EARNED!

If you know anything about Ava Frith, you know her work ethic and commitment has been spectacular. She has never taken a short cut. In fact, I honestly don’t believe she knows what a short cut looks like. See Ava developed into one of the best young post players as a freshman at Manasquan. Then decided she wanted to be a big wing or stretch four. So she turned herself into a deadly shooter and excellent ball handler. She reinvented her game. So much that she caught the eyes of D1 coaches. These things didn’t happen by mistake. This has all to do with AVA’s decision making. The decision to train and learn. To pick the minds of all her coaches and trainers. The evolution of AVA FRITH has been wonderful for all the right reasons. A player whose parents and she, didn’t need credit or attention. Ava just did her job and she did it better than most.

Some decisions are harder than others. Ava Frith spent her freshman and sophomore year at Manasquan high school. Her team won a state title. She was thriving in the class room. But Ava wanted more and when you want more, you have to change. It’s not easy to change when you 15 years old. But Ava was lucky. She had parents who not only believed in he but supported her. Ava’s mom and dad, Stephanie and Scott are not the type to make decisions for their children. They are not helicopter parents. They are parents first, not just fans of their kids. Scott and Stephanie. have taught Ava and her brother Grayson who Ava is very close too, to think on their own. To make wise, well thought out decisions. So when Ava decided to transfer to Rutgers Prep and play for future Hall of Fame Coach Mary Klinger, they stood by her. It may have been the best athletic decision Ava has made. She learned to spread her wings and fly on her own. Often sleeping at teammates homes and learning how to live on her own in many ways. Ava Frith grew up the past 2 years. It has helped prepare her for college. She can thank her family for all the support a kid could possibly ask for. She had parents who believed in letting their kids learn about life the old fashion way…. experience it.

Ava Frith has spent the last two years with Team Sharpe. Michelle Sharpe, has gave her a platform to showcase her talent. Team Sharpe was excellent choice for Ava, it forced her to become more versatile as a player. Taught her how to ride the wave though tough times and most importantly allowed her to build friendships. It was just another example of why Ava Frith is a master decision maker in so many ways. She also is mentallu tough and found the perfect inner circle. Michelle Sharpe in many ways was her angel. She challenged Ava and never allowed Ava to thing anything comes easy. Ava will no doubt always be grateful for what Coach did for her. But then again Ava has been grateful for all the people who have been in a life in a positive way.

Too often the good kids get the short end of the stick. Well you can stand clap finally because here is an example of the good kids winning. AVA FRITH has earned it all. Nothing has been given to her. She found the perfect school. The perfect home. A place where dreams come true. NYU checked all the boxes, Ava has found heaven. MEG BARBER’S NYU team has not lost a game in two years. They are the two time defending National Champions. Teams celebrate when they don’t lose by double figures to them. Well NYU is celebrating these days too. That’s because once again they picked up another great player, student , teammate and friend in AVA FRITH…. Congratulations!
