TRINITY HALL OPEN GYM PACKED WITH POSSIBILITIES!


Trinity Hall under Matt McCarthy has gone from one of the worst programs in the state of New New Jersey to one of the best the past two years. On September 10th Trinity Hall will have their first open gym. Nina Emnace and  Siobhan Stapleton were both the main reason for Trinity Hall’s rise to Top 20 status success. Nina Emnace was the best player in the Shore Conference  and the best player in the schools history. But she is now off to Harvard. Stapleton is now at Tufts University. Leaving Trinity Hall with a bunch of seasoned returning juniors and a senior starter. Most of the players returning played major roles the past two seasons. Be it as roles players with each one on a different night ask to step up and play the ROBIN role to Nina Emnace’s, BATMAN. It was a winning formula in a big way. Now those same players will be asked to play prime time roles and step into the spotlight.

There is lots of potential on the Trinity Hall roster. While the team does not have many gym rats, this is a crew of hard workers when they do get in the gym. Trinity Hall has a roster with lots of college  potential. So today I will give you a deep dive into their roster.

SENIORS 

Lily RIGGI– she has given a verbal commitment to East Stroudsburg. She is a blue collar type who could be a impact player for East Stroudsburg once she gets into a daily training routine.

LIZZY McCARTHY is a 5’8″ guard who is a energy giver with a full understanding of what is expected. She will be ready when called upon. She has seen the battles and can offer a real understanding of the Trinity Hall Culture. This is a program kid and clue type

JUNIORS

WHITNEY HOBSON is a 5’9″ wing player who brings major intangibles and versatility to the table. She is a knock it out 22ft shooter. She does  the little things like passing , screening, and making winning plays. She can slide to the point in a pinch. While not flashy she has a rock solid handle. She also can defend multiple positions. SHE IS A GYM RAT .. who is a big time student with D1 talent. NIAMH STAPLETON is a 5’10 swing forward. She has showed major flashes at times that screams next level talent. She is a excellent rebounder and defender. She is tough as nails. She is a vastly underrated shooter, passer, and rebounder. You simply cannot disregard her big upside. This is a player worth watching as she clearly a classic D1 fence sitter. She is highly skilled and plays with a competitive edge.

GRACE FEENEY is a 6’0″ and has the most upside of any player on this roster. She currently holds a D1 offer. She has strong athletic body. Big shoulders and strong lower body. She will have a college ready body the day she enters college. She is a high percentage shooter to 23 feet. She has the potential to be an elite offensive rebounder at the next level. Her ball handling has improved each year as has her basketball IQ. This is a player with tons of potential as post up wing player and scorer to go along with her shooting touch. She is evolving as a defender.

BRIDGET RIGNEY is a 5’7″ guard that  according to many was TRINTY’S best player in the summer league. She saw limited minutes last year. But is quick, athletic and can get to the rim. She has a reliable handle. She has a real ability to knock down open three’s. She could have a breakout season. There is lots of college potential here. She is an elite student and could be a nice fit for a program looking to upgrade their speed and athletic ability.

LIV POALLA is 5’9″ warrior who is an elite rower. She is a big time physical defender. She’s  quick and is an improving shooter. She could play a major role this season. She most likely will be a D1 rower in college. But high academic D3’s should peek in. Ultra competitive nature.

TEAGAN DRENNAN is a 5’9″ wing who most likely would be the best offensive player on this roster. The former FIRST TEAM ALL FRESHMAN player is out till January. She is a deadly shooter and offensive rebounder. She was dripping with D1 potential before her injury. She was a member of the all D1 bound 2026  Shoreshots roster as well prior to her injury. She is currently ahead of schedule for her return. This is a drama free kid and family. That will upgrade your culture from day one.

MADDIE QUINN is a 5’8″ forward and clue type player. She is a true program type player. She is a excellent shooter who plays with a very high IQ

BREE KORCH is a 5’9″ wing player who has seen limited minutes. She is a talented shooter with range. She hopes to see more time this up and coming season. She spent the summer playing AAU and working on her game in an effort to improve her status.

FRESHMAN

ALLISON McANDREW is a 5’9″ potential FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR. This is a future D1 lock( coaches I strongly urge you to offer now). She is a “BIG TIME GYM RAT”. She is athletic and talented . She can bury the mid range jumper or the three. She has an electric first step and gets on the glass and out in transition and fills lanes. Do not be surprised if she doesn’t start from day one of her career. This is a player with a serious competitive nature …coaches this is the REAL DEAL

SONIA DeROSAS is 5’9″ Athletic and competitive. It is hard to rattle her, can score quick points and is 100% confident taking shots.  She has a very good feel of the game on both ends.  Natural athlete

CHLOE BARRETT is a 5’9″ hungry player with a serious motor that never stops. Seems to be in the middle of all 50/50 balls and comes up the winner. She a possession getter who loves getting on the offensive glass. Will become a better shooter over the years but right now is a positive minute player, who can guard 1-4 positions
