Ocean County basketball is in need of a facelift. South A and B South are to divisions that will not a have team ranked in the Shore top 10. This will mark the first time that Ocean County lacks a pre season top 10 team in recent memory. The 2 divisions do have some very talented returning players and a possible freshman of the year
Manchester will return scoring machine Senior. DEYVN QUILEY. She was 1st Team All Shore and recently signed with NC STATE. She is one of the best players in the state of New Jersey. TOMS RIVER NORTH will be led by MEGAN SIAS, the 6’2” forward was named All Shore last season. She recently signed with D1 STONEHILL. Sias is a do it all type player and hopes to go out with a bang in her senior year.
Junior, EMMA THORNTON of BARNEGAT Is a future D1 player. The 5’11” forward is a double/double machine who has stepped her game up in a major way. BARNEGAT may be the best team in Ocean this season. That’s because JR RILEY FITZPATRICK had an excellent fall and just may be ready to fulfill all those expectations when she entered high school two years ago.
Finally while the talent pool in Ocean is not what it’s been in the past. There is real hope with the arrival of MADELINE NOLAN of Manchester. She should step into the starting lineup from day one. She will be a Freshman of the Year candidate.
SOUTH “B” looks to be a two horse race. Barnegat and Manchester will fight it out. But in the end say
SOUTH “A” is a toss up but in the end the best player in the Division plays for this school
