SCT EARLY SEEDING … WHO IS WHERE AND WHY🌱🌱 post thumbnail image

It’s getting close to seeding time and if teams are going to make a move, time is running out. This is the time of year, teams have to pick up steam and get rolling. So today I give you my EARLY BIRD SEEDING.

But keep in mind the eye test goes out the window when it comes to seeding; it’s about results. Seeding comes down to who you beat. NOT WHO YOU PLAYED. Quality wins carry lots of weight. Road wins are big, home losses are bigger. Bad losses are factored in to a lesser degree…

SJV is a #1 Seed Lock

1. SJV– This is non debatable. They have not beaten but destroyed everything in there path. They have beaten too many Top 10 teams to mention. They defeated the then #1 and now #2 ranked team in the country LUHI. They are undefeated.

BEST WIN- Nationally RANKED #1 LUHI

QUALITY WINS- 9

RED FLAG LOST- 0

2. ST. ROSE (14-3)- They have played the best schedule in the Shore this side of SJV. They have beat current or former  Top 20 teams Gil Bernard, Chatham, Manasquan and RFH all by double figures. They beat current #8 ranked Ewing as well. The injury to Maggie Cavanaugh will make holding on to this position difficult down the stretch

BEST WIN- #8 EWING

QUALITY WINS-  6

RED FLAG LOSS- 0

3. RBC– (15-1)  They have beaten every team on their schedule by double figures this season except one. There lone lost is too current #2 in the country LUHI. They have yet to be challenged by a NJ team. There wide point differential gives them this spot. There best chance to move up is with a win over Saddle River day

BEST WIN- #14 NEW PROVIDENCE

QUALITY WINS-2

RED FLAG LOST- 0

4. MANASQUAN-(13-4) They started out slow this season and have  picked up steam in the past week. All there loses were to Top 10 teams or Nationally Ranked teams. How you finish is important and right now they are hot. They picked up massive quality wins on the road vs State Ranked #7 St. Rose and against #11 Shawnee. They also have a double figure wins over current #20 Sparta and a win over current Shore #7  TRN

BEST WIN- ST ROSE on the road

QUALITY WINS – 5

RED FLAG LOST- ARCHBISHOP CARROLL BY 29 Points on the road

TRINITY HALL will have a real chance to improve there seeding at the end of the regular season closes

5. TRINITY HALL (16-2)- They have played a quality schedule to this point. They have a win over current #11 Shawnee and a road win over Lenape. They have not beaten 2nd tier teams but have dominated them.  They finish the season with Manasquan and St Rose giving them a real chance to move up or down in the seeding

BEST WIN – #11 state Ranked Shawnee

QUALITY WINS- 2

RED FLAG LOST- SADDLE RIVER DAY by double figures on the road

6. OCEAN TWP– (14-1)- They have dismantled every team they have play in the Shore by double figures except one. There light schedule and a lost to Shore Reg prevents them from being ranked higher. They have a massive win over #10 Cherokee on the road. There point differential is massive.

BEST WIN- #10 Ranked CHEROKEE on the road

QUALITY WINS- 1

RED FLAG LOST- SHORE REG on the road

7. TRN– (11-2) – They have beaten everyone they were suppose to beat. There two losses are to current #11 Shawnee and Manasquan by 4 points. There are no quality games left on there schedule, making it almost impossible for them to finish at this spot on seeding day.

BEST WIN- JACKSON MEMORIAL twice

QUALITY WINS- 0

RED FLAG LOST- 0

8. RUMSON (11-6) They played a quality schedule this season with 5 games against current or former Top 20 teams (St Rose twice) They lost two of the games by double figures and one by 9 points. They currently lack a Shore Top 10 win. They lost a heartbreaker to state #8 EWING by two.  The  end of the season they play Trinity Hall and Rutgers Prep, giving them a real chance to improve there seeding status.

BEST WIN- RED BANK REG twice

QUALITY WINS – 0

RED FLAG LOST- RBC on the road by double figures , ST ROSE by double figures. MOORE CATHOLIC on the road

9. SHORE REG– (13-2)- They have played a light schedule. But have proved themselves by beating teams by 20+ on most nights. They have played two quality opponents on the season. Losing to  former Top 20 Montiville on the road  and beating Ocean Twp at home. The schedule offers a rematch with Ocean as the only opportunity to improve there seeding Status

BEST WIN – OCEAN TWP

QUALITY WINS- OCEAN TWP

RED FLAG LOST- MONTVILLE on the road by 24. Monmouth Reg at home.

10. RED BANK RED– (10-6)- They have lost Camryn Gardner for the season, making holding on to this seed very tough. They have played one of the toughest schedule’s in the Shore. They have played  5 current or former Top 20 team in the state. They have not beat any of them and more importantly have lost all by double figures. They will need a good finish to hold on to this spot or to move up. A quality showing vs RBC would go a long way towards that

BEST WIN- MONROE

12. HOLMDEL

13. HOWELL
