ESU; LOLA GIORDANO THE PERFECT MATCH

Coaches may not admit it but they have favorites. It’s usually the kid that shows up everyday and is respectful and willing to do what ever is asked them. These kids do the winning shit. They shine in any role asked of them. There the kid that brings the team together. There the kid that when things get tough stay positive. LOLA GIORDANO is the poster child for these type players. EAST STROUDSBURG got a commitment for one of the best teammates and people you will meet in Lola Giordano. You see Lola is a rock star person.

RED BANK CATHOLIC, Coach Joe Montano may not admit it. But Lola Giordano, is one of his favorite players of all time. Not because of her gritty style of play. Not because of her mental toughness. Not because she’s gotten better every year. He loves Lola Giordano because of the type of person she is on and off the court. He loves that Lola is more concerned with the team than herself. He loves the she will do anything it takes to win. He loves that he can rely on Lola. He never has to guess what he is getting day to day. You see Lola Giordano is no chameleon. What you see, is you get. Someone who truly cares and willing to do all the hard things for the team and not ask for credit or anything in return. SHE DOES ALL THE WINNING SHIT, over and over.

LOLA GIORDANO, would be a star and household name on just about every other high school team in New Jersey. She was FIRST TEAM ALL FRESHMAN, everyone has always known she was mega talented. Too often these days talented players go to weaker programs. They say, they want to play with friends, have a connection with the coach and give other reasons. But the truth of the matter is these talented kids often want the points, the stats, tweets and wealth sharing awards. What they don’t what is challenge and chips. They don’t want the competition. These kids rarely fulfill their potential. They become box score junkies and are perfectly fine with that. LOLA wanted no part of that. She wanted to play with and against the best. She knew RBC would have mega talent and many players that play her position. She didn’t care because winners find a way and Lola is a big winner. She stars in any role Coach Montano puts her in. She can be called on to be a defensive stopper, run the point, play the shooting guard role. Make the big shot or play. It doesn’t matter. She stars in any role asked of her to play. She has something few kids have these days. A lack of ego and willingness to sacrifice herself for the benefit of the team. You see Lola eats up pressure like it’s a tasty snack. See this is why EAST STROUDSBURG is so lucky and know they will have a ALL CONFERENCE PSA player for years to come.

I know that LOLA GIORDANO, thought I was upset when she choose a D2 school. The truth of the matter is I was not surprised one bit. When Bob Dubina asked me, did I think Lola would go to a D2 school. I told him if any kid would do it, it’s Lola. That’s because Lola unlike most kids of her talent would appreciate a scholarship. She is the type of kid who is not trying to keep up with the jones. She just wanted the right place and East Stroudsburg is the right place. You see Lola is an off the charts student, she’ll leave ESU with a master degree in nursing, one of the reasons she choose ESU. Many and most D1 schools don’t allow nursing students. She’ll be one of the best players in school history before she is done. She’ll play with some friends from the Shore. Players she played with and grew up with. All the cards for Lola Giordano and ESU lined up beautifully. It’s a marriage made in heaven.

LOLA, is a rare kid these days. Her parents are very supportive of her and encourage her to be prepared and always give 100%. They also are insanely loyal and trusting. Two qualities.that have gone the way of the dinosaur when it comes to youth, AAU and high school basketball. Lola has played for the NJ RISE her entire career. No jumping from team to team. No chasing hype and looking for the next big thing over and over. Ellen Masonious has been more than just a coach. She has been a mentor and role model for Lola. Bob Green is a master coach, Jen Green has been a mother like figure. The Rise has been a joyful experience. Just like her time at RBC. Lola has never seeked the spotlight. She never showed up an opponent or disrespected a referee or coach. That’s because GIORDANO understands one word better than most “RESPECT“. You see this is the key to her success. She respects everyone and doesn’t turn her back on friends and those who have helped her along the way. This is why she so easy to love.

So EAST STROUDSBURG pulls off maybe the biggest steal of the recruiting season. They know they’re getting a D1 player. They know they’re getting one of the most competitive players in New Jersey. ESU knows they’re getting a proven winner from a winning program. A player that has played against the highest level of competition on the biggest stages It’s clear ESU is getting a player that is reliable both on and off the court. They know they’re getting a player whose only goal will be to win. LOLA GIORDANO is a born leader. She doesn’t care about headlines or being a star. She will want to help EAST STROUDSBURG be a star program. It has never been about LOLA GIORDANO in her mind. It’s always been about being a great person, teammate and friend. Well LOLA GIORDANO is a First Team All American when it comes to that role…. CONGRATULATIONS TO LOLA GIORDANO AND ESU.. WELL DONE!!!
