AVERY GOLDFEDER: NO CROWN, NO HYPE… THE VIDEO DON’T!

Red Bank Catholic’s overlooked player is making her own statement.

It’s an old story in basketball. Every year, some kids enter high school already crowned. The hype machine is rolling before they attend a single practice. They get opportunities, patience, and recognition regardless of their performance.

Then there are the kids who are questioned, labeled, and placed in a box before they’ve had a chance to prove themselves.

AVERY GOLDFEDER OF RED BANK CATHOLIC WAS NEVER HANDED A CROWN. IN FACT, SOME PEOPLE TRIED TO NAIL THE BOX SHUT.

But Avery isn’t having any of that.

I’ve always said the video doesn’t lie. And right now, Avery’s development is telling a story. She’s getting better, and those who doubted her may have a problem.

The question is simple: When people doubt you, do you run or get to work?

Avery chose work.

She shoots every day. She charts her shots in a notebook, studies her percentages, watches film, and writes down her mistakes. She’s getting stronger, improving her conditioning, and leaves no stones unturned.

SHE’S DOING THE HARD STUFF THAT TOO MANY PLAYERS AREN’T WILLING TO DO.

Avery Goldfeder, is showing up in the fall league and being one of the most productive players on the RBC roster. Again let’s roll the tape. She is knocking down threes, dropping dimes, playing effective team defense and more importantly, doing all this without extended minutes. Meaning she is impacting and proving she stays ready. Avery Goldfeder is making it hard to ignore her. She is proving game over hype still matters.

Let’s be honest. Avery may not have the same physical gifts or athletic advantages as some of her teammates. She hasn’t received the same hype or automatic recognition. She’s had to work to earn her opportunities. She had to work harder in the weight room. She had to leave no stone unturned. She’d had to beat away the doubters. Those who questioned if she belonged at RBC. She’s had to do it all at times as an outsider. Not part of the club and those crowned. She had to do it the old fashion way… SHE HAS HAD TO EARN IT!

And that’s exactly why her improvement matters.

If you have watched RBC play this summer and fall. You know they are the gang that can’t shoot straight. But Avery Goldfeder is not part of that gang her shooting has improved since the summer. While RBC continues to search for offensive consistency, Avery is working to become the team’s most reliable shooter. RBC has high volume and low percentage shooters, making AVERY more important than ever in this area.

First, people dismiss an overlooked player’s success as a one-time thing. Then they question the competition. Eventually, they hope everyone forgets. Then they hide from the video and the numbers. But you can’t run from the video or the numbers. Because they tell truth. Right now Avery Goldfeder is putting pressure on on everyone. She is making a statement and more importantly backing it up with facts not talk. Not potential, not what might be… no AVERY GOLDFEDER IS GETTING IT DONE NOW!

Consistent improvement makes life increasingly difficult because requires sacrifices, time and tough skin

This is bigger than basketball statistics. It’s about a young player refusing to let other people define her potential or success. This is about becoming good enough to control your movements and status in the future.

Avery wants to be accepted. She’s still growing as a player, a teammate, and a young person. But she’s learning an important lesson: YOU DON’T NEED EVERYONE TO BELIEVE IN YOU WHEN YOU’RE WILLING TO BELIEVE IN YOUR WORK.

Youth basketball has become obsessed with hype, labels, and early predictions. We crown players before their development is complete and sometimes overlook the ones quietly getting better.

That’s a mistake.

Avery Goldfeder is a reminder that development doesn’t follow anybody else’s timetable. Players deserve to be evaluated on what they’re doing now, not simply on what somebody decided about them months ago.

She still has work to do. The challenge is to keep improving when things go well and when they don’t.

No shortcuts. No manufactured hype. Just preparation, persistence, and performance.

AVERY GOLDFEDER MAY NOT BE WEARING A CROWN, BUT SHE’S STARTING TO TAKE CONTROL OF HER FUTURE.

And sometimes, the best basketball stories are the ones nobody saw coming.

LESS TALK. MORE DOING.
