Today we PREVIEW CENTRAL “ B” DIVISION. This division looks like a one horse race. Pt. BORO has basically there entire team back. This after spending last year in one of the best divisions in the Shore last year. But Pt. Beach has the best player in the division and that could be the road block from preventing them from winning the division.
POINT BORO has lots of points returning this coming season. They are also a well seasoned team. This is a team that did battle with some of the very best teams in the state. Last season they played St. ROSE , MANASQUAN and SJV to name a few. No Ocean county team played that type schedule. This is a team that should dominate the division
This team has virtually everyone back from a year ago. KATHERINE HENN a senior forward seems as if she has been around forever. She averaged 8 points… 5 points and 2 assists last season. She has committed to SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY. SARAH DAHL Is another senior who can do it all . She averaged 8 points…4 rebounds and 4 assists. She will give BORO plenty of experience in the backcourt. EMILY MARINELLI Is a very confident senior who can score in a number of ways. She averaged 9.5 points a night. She had 45 threes on the season last year. VANESSA HAAS is a very underrated played who had outstanding junior year averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds. GABRIELLE MELLET Is a classic glue player. She averaged 5 points and 6 rebounds.
This is a team with lots of fire power. They have scorers at every position. They are also a very good rebounding and passing team. They have quickness and experience at every position. They are a very aggressive team and battle tested team. Do not be surprised to see them in the Top 10
They have been on the edge of breaking through now for two years. Can they finally put it together and make a run in the SCT? Can they become on defense what they are on offense? Finally who is really the team leader?
BRICK MEMORIAL Freshman sensation LIANA LAPENA returns this season with her 38 threes and over 200 points. But BRICK who were 16-11 last season was devastated by graduation.
PT BEACH has the best player in the Division PT. BORO has the best player in the division in ERIN FRAUENHEIM who will score her 1000th point this season. She was player of the year in ” A” Central last season. Senior KAITLYN HARD should provide some help. She is more than reliable scoring over 150 points last season for Beach that went 14-14. They have a legit punchers chance
New Egypt, Jackson Liberty, and Lakewood will all be on the outside looking in trying to pull off a few upsets along the way
There is always a chance that someone could knock off Pt. BORO off in a game. But winning the division? Not going to happen
