So where are the Top Freshman going? Today I will tell you. First I will tell you a few things. The 2027 class is neither deep or especially loaded with lock D1 players right now . But it is a solid class. The ones who are gym rats I believe have the biggest future and recruiting upside. So pay close attention to the gym rat logo attached to any kids name.
Notice none of the Top kids choose RBC or Trinity. That is due to that fact, that these two programs lose no players in there 8 man rotation for the next two or three years.
After SATURDAY CORE SKILLS, wraps up in 5 weeks, no doubt some new names be added to this year’s list. I will release this years GOLDEN DOZEN in a few weeks…here is a peek at last year’s 2026 Golden Dozen.

CHOICE- SJV
She is one of the two most in demand players in the 2027 class. She is 5’10” and clearly growing still. She can score inside or out. She also is the biggest gym rat of the class.
SAM ORLANDO-
CHOICE- MIDDLETOWN SOUTH
This is a major pickup for Middle South. She is one of the two most in demand players in the class. The 5’9″ ORLANDO Is by far the most competitive player in the class. She will be a 4 yr starter most likely.
MADDIE NOLAN
CHOICE- MANCHESTER
She is by far the best 2027 in Ocean. More importantly a Ocean kid staying home. She attended Core Skills last year and I have watched her on video. She may be the most gifted player in the 2027 class. She plays mutiple sports(Soccer) and is athletic. She will be a 4 year starter and Freshman of the Year Canididate next season with development.
BROOKE JAENICKE
CHOICE- RFH
Rumson picks up a year round basketball player. They also pick scoring, passing and ball handling. She has a full understanding of how to play and is one of the Top 5 Players in the 2027 class. I believe in time she could be a ALL SHORE type guard…stay tuned
CHOICE- SJV
This is the one of players in the class that I will say is a “D1 lock”. No player in this class is built more for the SJV style or culture. The 5’9″ guard is still growing. She is long athletic and skilled. Think Janine Bachmann Pt2.
CHOICE- DONOVAN CATHOLIC?
There is no question who the best guard in the 2027 class is right now. She is the ultimate gym rat. She has next level quickness and speed. Her jumpshot is reliable and her handle ready. If she attends DONOVAN, she will be a 4 year starter.
GRACE SMITH-
CHOICE- RBC, RFH, TRINITY
Grace may be the most improved player in this class in recent weeks. That is because she has performed where it matters most , in games. She is 5’8″, confident and skilled. Her footwork has seen a major upgrade. She is getting in the gym more and more while moving towards gym rat status.
KAELYN GIBSON–
CHOICE – MIDDLETOWN NORTH
She is 100% the biggest sleeper in this class. Middletown North locks up a 4 year starter. The will defend, score and handle the ball. Make no mistake this could be the biggest impact freshman in the Shore Conference next year. She will be a ALL FRESHMAN 1ST TEAM CANIDIDATE
LAUREN DIVER
CHOICE- SJV
SJV picks up another interesting 2027. She is having an excellent winter. She is a deadly shooter with range. Now the question is what improvements does she make in the next 8 weeks. The potential is certainly there
KAYLA MORETTI
CHOICE – MANASQUAN
This is a nice pickup for Manasquan. The combo guard can defend, shoot, has a excellent handle and brings a real competitve nature. She will have a nice impact before her days are over. I say she gets better each year. Totally under the radar
CHOICE- SJV
She is ultra competitive, the #1 reason she will attend SJV. She fits the SJV mode of a players that will grown into the program. She is a gym rat and one of the kids in this class not ducking the smoke. She choose the school that give her the best chance to develop…not promises!
PEYTON ATNES
CHOICE- RANNEY
This is just what the doctor ordered for Ranney. She is a pit bull on defense. Insanely coachable. She has a real fire in her belly. The combo guard has a nice handle and improving jumper. This is a 2027 who will only get better and play varsity as a freshman.
GRACE HEIMS-
CHOICE- ST. ROSE
She may be the best pure shooter in the 2027 class. She has parking lot type range. She will give St. ROSE a instant offensive shooter as a freshman. The summer is very important to her development and impact. If she becomes a gym rat.. watch out!
AVERY WYATT-
CHOICE – FREEHOLD BORO
Folks this young lady, when it all shakes out just may be the best post player in the Shore one day. She has soft hands, runs the floor and is 6 1″ with a body built for basketball. Time is 100% on her side. She has more potential than any other player in this class. A SUMMER A WITH GAIL CAVERLY FORT HAWKS will be fruitful in so many ways.
MADI LANE-
CHOICE- MIDDLETOWN SOUTH
South picked up another 6ft forward. I hope to see more of her in the next 5 weeks. But from the little I saw, she is long for days. Very, very mobile and active . She plays off the ground. No question another excellent pickup for Middletown South

ASHLEY KREIGER
CHOICE- RANNEY
She is the current face of US HOOPS basketball. She tore her ACL and decided to reclass . If she does attend Ranney, she instantly starts and makes RANNEY a possible Top 10 teams in the Shore. She is 6’2″ Athletic and has had an additional year to get bigger and stronger compared to her 2027 classmates
