SHE WILL NOT TURN 17, until next season as a senior. She has willed herself into a Hard-to-stop interior scorer, not just because of her size and next level college body but also because of her skills and touch. Abby Sturm has discovered the balance of brut force and finesse. She has learned it seems overnight how to use her massive frame to seal off opponents and make himself available for interior feeds. She has advanced footwork, with a new found gigantic presence enhanced by awkward looking at times but HIGHLY EFFECTIVE agility.

She Willingly has embraced her role, playing limited minutes as an underclassman at the D1 stacked RED BANK CATHOLIC, who have 5 D1 forwards in her position the past 3 years. To now where the offense in the lane is expected to be run though her as a senior. It appears it was worth the wait. Playing with and against so many D1 post players the past 3 years, she has fully took advantage of the knowledge each have passed along and more importantly thrived in the competitive environment she has had to live in daily.

She is Intelligent with a solid feel for playmaking out of double-teams. She isn’t a savant passer by any means, but she now limits mistakes despite receiving so much attention from double teams. She is very difficult to defend one on one because of the variety of post moves currently in her bag. She keeps the ball high, limits her dribbles, when she catches it near the rim, so she’s not prone to getting stripped, another major upgrade in her game. She has added a soft touch on jump hook shots, and possess a high percentage standstill shooting upside from the baseline, corner and top of the key… SHE CAN EASILY PLAY THE ROLE OF A STRETCH FOUR because of the shooting touch and new found conditioning added to her overall development. This is the type recruit where the light switch has gone on and it seems will not go off…

This is a player that has emerged at the right time. A classic example of why GYM RATS are a must in the recruiting process. She is still growing and the scary part? Coaches she has not reached scratched the surface of her potential. She will be in real heavy demand by summers end because of her size and dynamic rise.
