The Shore Conference Tournament is loaded with stars. But here are some future stars who just might open your eyes. These are talented players who are very capable of blowing up over the next two weeks…COLLEGE COACHES GET YOUR PENS OUT!
Gabby Davis-Southern High- forward-Sophomore–She is a rebounding machine. Once she receives the ball in the post she is almost un-stoppable. One of the best young post players in the shore a future lock D1 player, she reminds you of current U of Buffalo star Kristen Sharkey and she just may be better one day.
Megan Hughes-Pt. Boro-Guard-Sophomore– Another future lock D1 player, she is a natural scorer. She opened the SCT with 24 points last night. Her ability to get to the rim or bury three’s with range make special. Her Ball handling skills and size allow her to see over the top of defenses and handle contact with ease.
GiGI Caponergo-SJV–Forward-Junior-It’s almost insane we have to call her a star under the radar. College coaches love her. She has developed a sweet 17 ft jumper and is always one of the best defenders in the post. But it’s her passing and rebounds skills that are so over looked by everyone except college coaches.
Kelly Crouch-SJV-Guard-Junior–Part of the best back-court in the shore. She is murder late in game with timely shooting. She is the best post passing point guard in the STATE. She is in heavy demand by D1 schools and not for this reason alone. Her Basketball IQ screams College Coach one day. She will be All Shore this year and nobody talks about her. Because of her shooting skills, the natural point can play slides to the two when Campbell is at the one.
Luciana Thomas-Ocean-Forward-Freshman–The numbers against top level competition is off the charts. In Ocean’s upset win over Central in the SCT last night…. all she did was score 14 points and grab 12 rebounds. She is a walking double/double. A future superstar and one day Player Of The Year candidate…by the way she belongs in 8th grade age wise. No Freshman has but up numbers like this since….MARINA MABREY!
Stephanie Lesko-Rumson-Swing-Junior– She has BCS type talent. Why are so many schools recruiting her? Her size and shooting ability make her very special. She can take over games at times. She is a ever improving re-bounder and will one day be a All Shore player. She just my be the 2nd most gifted player in the SCT.
Stella Clark-Manasquan-Guard-Sophomore– While Marina Mabrey gets all the attention, it’s Stella Clark who is the one player who makes Manasquan go after Super Woman. Clark is A UNDERRATED shooter and rebounder. Her defense changes games…She was the Freshman of the Year last season and built on that reputation this year. If there is one player in this event who everyone roots for… it just may be Miss Clark
Chelsea Crowe-Donovan Cath–Pt. Guard- Senior-she has been sensational all year. Last night she scored her 1000th point. She is the best shooting point guard in the Shore Conference. She has been a winner her entire career and D1 schools still looking for a point guard…HERE IS THE ANSWER! Her defense and scoring ability cannot be ignored.
Harley Kneler-Freehold Twp-Pt. Guard-junior–The former All Freshman Team member, just may be the most underrated Point guard in this event. She defends and knocks downs three’s. Watch how many times she gets the ball to Tori Wagner inside. Watch how she finds Sam Famulare…Kneler could blow up in the SCT if you are paying attention to little things.
Haley Dalonzo-Middletown South- Guard-Sophomore– She was on the all Freshman team last year. She will one day wear a D1 uniform. Her strength and quickness are rare. The improving jump shot makes her capable of taking over a game. She has not be healthy most of the season…But now she she back and may be the reason South is rolling coming into the SCT. College coaches she is a mini Stephanie Karcz and nobody wants one of those…LOL
Sidney Caffaro-Holmdel-Shooting Guard-Sophomore- College coaches and fans this one of the most athletic, explosive young players I know. She WILL be one the most in demand players in the shore before her career is over. It would not surprise me one bit if she blows up in the SCT. Unselfish and always plays the right way..she is not a stat junkie…she plays to win!
Jen Louro-St. Rose-Guard-Sophomore– It’s been a break out year for the younger Louro. Her defense is simply some of the best in the state. She is athletic and strong. With her rapidly improving shooting and ball handling skills, this gym rat just may be better than her big sister one day. Louro has been just what the doctor ordered folks, you ask why? She plays her role to a “T” and when called on for offense she right on point.
Desiree Allen-Neptune-Guard-Sophomore-The most explosive player in this event. The quickness and first step are off the charts. Her defense is overwhelming at times. When she is making jumpers she is un-guardable. The future D1 stud is a full blown star now..She will be All Shore and could steal the show.
Josie Larkins-RBC-Shooting Guard- Sophomore–The All FRESHMAN TEAM member last year, blew up this season. Larkins is a scoring machine right now and don’t forget the lights out defense. Larkins has now become one of the most effective shooters in the STATE…She will one day be the answer to a lot of college coaches scoring problems.
Bianca Nicolini-Southern-Guard-Junior- One of the most improved players in the state. She has had a breakout season and must be considered as one the leading candidates for most improved players. She has helped make Southern a Top 10 team all year. She has a wicked first step and can step back and knock down three’s…college coaches and fans enjoy!
