It was week of challenges inside and outside the Shore Conference. Once again there was a shakeup at the bottom of the Top 10. There was no change at the Top of the Top 10. There are some new young players who have begun to make there mark. There are some new faces in the Top 10 team. TORI HYDUKE GOT HER 1000TH POINT…

COACH OF THE WEEK
John Turhan–RBR- Once again he has proven why he is in the Hall of Fame. He team of babies nearly pulled off the biggest upset in Shore History. Turhan is a master X and O’s and his game playing is among the best in the state. He put together the best game plan against a player in years. He was sensational last week in getting his team ready and more importantly to believe.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jenna Paul – Toms River North- Junior- Paul blew up this week at the Coaches Choice Showcase on Staten Island. Paul who is having a banner All Shore type season had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals…enough said!
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Caitlyn Decker- RBR– She is part of one of the best Freshman classes in the shore and last week she was sensation. She had 17 points against the #8 team in the state RFH and more importantly played lights out defense as well. She becomes the first RBR player to win this award.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Jackson Memorial – Not only are they the team of the week. They are becoming the surprise of the year. While everyone has had they hands full when playing Wall Twp. this year. Jackson Memorial ran them out of the gym 55-31. They moved to 5-0 on the season and Rachel Goodale has her team rolling. Bianca Giordano is one of the best young point guards in the shore. Dani Evans is having a dream start to the season. Kristina Donza and Rachel Capuo have been lights out. Jackson Memorial is looking more and more like the real deal.
SATURDAY CORE SKILLS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dorothy Loffredo– Like Clock work a player shows up at Core Skills and steals the show. This hard nose all out player was special.

WEEKLY TOP 10 RANKING
1.MANASQUAN-There took on a powerhouse in Paul IV and were tied at halftime. They ran out of gas and suffered they first lost of the year. Dara Mabrey had 22 points.
2. SJV– Where the only Shore team, to come out of PA with a win last “W” last week. Maddie Doring was MVP with 22 points.
3. ST. ROSE– We are in that time of year, where they no longer play competitive games. They are still hopping for a Mary Beth Chambers return
4. RBC- Lost in Blue Chip Showcase by 4. They lead by 9 points in early in 3rd only to fall late. Fab Eggenshwiler returned and now the are at full strength.
5. MANCHESTER– They are on cruise control these days. No team benefits more from getting games under their belt.
6. TOMS RIVER NORTH– They most likely will enter the Top 20 in the state poll this week. They got a win in the Coaches Choice Showcase and appear to be on a mission
7. RUMSON FAIR-HEAVEN– Call it what you want, but the states #8 team continues to do what all good teams do…find a way to win. Phoebe Spernal and Sophie Passalaque have stepped up in a big way.
8. JACKSON MEMORIAL – Rachel Goodale’s crew are showing they mean business. They enter the Top 10 for the first time in 4 years…congrats.
9. HOLMDEL– Christina Antonakakis has led the charge and looks who back in the the rankings. They are a surprise 6-2 and surging after knocking off Colts Neck…big test tonight at RFH.
10. MARLBORO– They just seen to no want to go away. They knock off Middletown South and are hanging on to the 10th spot. Jess Broad has been not short of sensation this season.
