THE SHORE CONFERENCE TOP 10 (A Day Early)

THE SHORE CONFERENCE TOP 10 (A Day Early) post thumbnail image

The Shore Conference has seen it all this past week and just about everyone enjoyed every minute. It was week to remember with big wins, upsets and star performances and records. The TOP 10 is a formality and not much of a debate these days. So tomorrow I will recap the week and give you the weekly Award Winners. So today I will drop the Top 10 a day early.

Addy Nymcheck was a very “BAD WOMAN”

RED BANK CATHOLIC – this is the first time the Casey’s have sat in this spot in over a  decade. The Casey’s jumped all over St. Rose as Addy Nyemcheck was at her dominate best. Christina Liggio, Tessa Carman and DANIELA MALETSKY all were outstanding. Tessa Liggio conducted it all. RBC is still searching for a big win. There are chances waiting down the road.

MANASQUAN– one day you’re on the top of the mountain and the next day you’re looking up. That’s what happen to Manasquan. Last week they were #1. Then they knocked off SJV and seemed to be the solid #1. Then two days later, RBR beats them and off they go back to fighting the uphill battle . Hope Masonious has been off the charts. Katie Collins spectacular. But now they must regroup. They lack of  bench development showed up vs RBR, because they had no one to save them when things went south for there big guns… it happens

OCEAN TWP– They have seniors playing extremely well these days. They are not the team ther where two weeks ago, but who is? Kayden Clark has been 1st Team All Shore good. The four horsewomen are rolling. Eli Clark, Jineen Ayyash, GAMILA BETTON, can’t play much better. SOFIA CHEBOOKJIAN, just sits back as teams dismiss her impact with a smile on her face, as she is killing them softly. This could be the most dangerous team in the Shore right now. Because there coach has most creative mind in the shore and not just on offense.

ST. JOHN VIANNEY– They had a rough and disappointing week. They once again struggled shooting the ball as they lost on the road vs Manasquan. Then they gave up a shocking 72 points against New York powerhouse Scanlan. Stella Lockhart cannot be much better. But after that, SJV has to look long and hard for a player that has been consistent game in and game out this season. They will have to at some point get rolling. A overall team performance will help. The clock is ticking.

TRINITY HALL- Folks their cooking and it’s not because of the wins. It’s how they’re winning. There entire team was sick vs Colts Neck and they found a way. But more importantly  TRINITY ALL TIME LEADING SCORER, NINA EMNACE is getting serious help these day. Grace Feeney has been remarkably good and now can be consistently counted upon. Liggi Riggi and Whitney Hobson has been just what the doctor ordered. . But it’s been Teagan DRENNAN who has been a lethal weapon and secret sauce since getting out of the witness protection program. She has become a serious boost off the bench scoring. Siobhan Stapleton has been rock solid. They might be the most improved team, Matt McCarthy team is cooking folks.

RED BANK REG– The record doesn’t tell the story. This is a team that could be sitting as high as #3 right now. One day you’re winning the WOBM and the next day you lose to Howell. Two overtime losses, a loss by 5 without Gardner and you would think the sky is falling. Nope it was Manasquan falling as COACH TRUHAN added to his list of massive wins against teams on top of the mountain. Caroline Polloway has been a walking double/ double vs everyone. Camryn Gardner took over in the 4th vs Manasquan. Zoe Gulley is acting like a big shot maker and Synai Blychanton may have found the right tempo as she was named MVP in the Manasquan game. JT has a team with lots of confidence.

ST. ROSE- Chrissy Hatfield has done a masterful coaching job. Her team knocked off Holmdel and gave RBC reason to pause for a half before falling. Cassidy Kruise has been on fire and playing lights out and has gone back to defending again. Jada  Lynch has been to good for words. Her passing, rebounding, defense and overall game has been outstanding. They simply can’t ask more of her. Bella Avarado has been running the show and soon needs to get some credit. Brooke Missry has stepped up in a major way. Now if Caroline Comforti can take a big step… look out.

WALL– they have come to a standstill. They knocked off the struggling  Ranney and Hightstown. Solid wins but not wins to move you up in the pecking order. Shayne Eldridge and  Emily Tvrdik both got there 1000th point. Marisa Amite has been outstanding and this team is looking more and more like a major spoiler candidate.

HOWELL– There win over RBR just got more important. That because they are on a 6 game win streak and are 9-1. Coach Joe Santopietro team has only one lost. It was to #3 Ocean Twp. Kiera McKnown and her crew of no names are making a name for themselves. In fact a very big name.

RUMSON– Hangs on for to the 10th spot. That’s because I don’t share the wealth (sorry Manchester) and they have quality wins and not a single loss to a non ranked team. Erin Reid is starting to look like a star and Emma Mason returned vs state ranked #19 West Orange in the 2nd half from injury and tied to save the Bulldogs who at the time were down by 14 points. RFH cut it it 5 points but came up short. They’re getting interesting.
