NEW JERSEY 2026 SHORE CONFERENCE ALL FRESHMAN TEAM

The 2026 ALL FRESHMAN has a new twist this year. This season we only choose 5 players. Rather than expand our list we went for quality. Choosing the 20226 Freshman of The Year was a very difficult task. In the end it simply came down to head to head competition. There are two Ocean County players on this years team, giving hope to the future in the county. Once again there was no wealth sharing. CONGRATS TO ALL THE MEMBERS OF THIS YEARS TEAM

SIDNEY TILTON-5’10- SWING- SHORE REG

“Her work ethic is relentless, whether it is on the defensive side of the ball where she has a motor that just never stops.  Her ability to guard multiple spots makes her so versatile.  On offense, she has a knack for driving and finishing strong at the basket, as well as scoring from the outside”…Syd was asked to do many things this year as a freshman (score, guard the other team’s top threat, handle the ball, be an all around presence) and to her credit, she not only accepted the challenge every time, but she challenged herself to get better in all facets of her game- something the great ones do and she did not disappoint.”... Quote, Asst Coach, Troy Madison, Shore Reg.

There is not much more that can be said about the season Sidney Tilton put together in her freshman year. Her numbers are staggering. She had over 400 points, 157 rebounds, 61 assists and a mind blowing 56 blocks and 123 steals. Those are historic numbers for any freshman. It also may be the reason she was named the FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR, by THE SHORE SPORTS INSIDER. Sidney scored in double figures in every game this season except 3 and had double/doubles in 3 games not to mention two near misses for triple doubles. She is a warrior on the boards and more importantly brings a physical presence for such a young player. She has a underrated first step and quickness. She is a rock solid shooter from behind the three point line with 18 threes this past season. But it’s Sidney’s ability to get to the foul line that jumps off the page. Sidney Shot 123 free throws last season. There is no doubt she is the next mega star at Shore Reg. Sidney who was the Shore Conference FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR IN SOCCER this high school season has had a banner freshman year to say the least…CONGRATS TO SIDNEY!

SUMAIYAH LASHLEY- 5’10”- SWING- RBC

“Just a pleasure to coach and has a tremendous future in front of her. Great physical ability and learned so much from the senior class. Partnered with Addy in every drill. I  expect her to be one of the best players in shore for the next three years.”… Quote, Joe Montano, HEAD COACH RBC

Playing on the 5th ranked team in the country and #1 team in the state with 8 D1 players is not easy. It certainly not easy for a Freshman to break into the rotation. But that is exactly what Sumaiyah Lashley did this year. More importantly she entered games and looked liked she had no problem playing against the highest level of competition on the biggest stages. There were many moments to sing her praises in big games. In games few if any other freshman could have played in this year. Her pickpocket to bring the crowd to it feet at a big moment. Her knocking down three’s when it was least expected in a big moment. To Coach Montano calling on his star freshman to shoot to big throws on a technical foul in perhaps the biggest game of the year. When Katie Liggio, went down with a injury in the state Chip game. She was moved up in the rotation and delivered in a way that gave us a peek into the future. She scored on a big offensive rebound as time winded down to give RBC much need breathing room and played lights out defense. Sue as she is called by many, played her role to a “T” this season. She was both solid as a rock and spectacular at times. Sumaiyah, is the most gifted and raw talent in the 2029 class. She has size, is athletic and a high IQ. She is a born leader and that will serve her well as he will be asked to lead the RBC team the next 3 years. There is no question she will be one of the best players in the Shore long before her playing days are over….Congrats to SUMAIYAH LASHLEY!

“Mackenzie Sims is an absolute force on the court. As a freshman forward, she shows a level of skill and determination that’s rare for someone her age. Her ability to dominate in both offense and defense makes her a standout player. Every time she gets the ball, you can feel the excitement on the court! I’m thrilled to see how she continues to develop her game and lead our team. With her work ethic and talent, the sky’s the limit for Mackenzie.”..Quote, Taryn Scintio, Head Coach, Freehold High School

MACKENZIE SIMS- 5’10”- FORWARD- FREEHOLD BORO

There is no player on this list that was more of a surprise to me than Mackenzie Sims. She had no profile or reputation going into the season. That was until I saw a stat line vs North Brunswick in the middle of the season. On that day I read 22 points and 15 rebounds. So I immediately hit the tape and what I saw shocked me. Mackenzie Sims proved most again the video don’t lie. She is a active rebounder who you can put in that elite category for any level of high school competition. The freshman had over 300 rebounds and there’s no doubt before her days are over will make a serious run to join the hardest club of all, the 1000 rebound and point club at the same time. She had over 250 points this season. Mackenzie, had a eye popping 9 double/doubles this season. She also had over a 100 steals as well, proving she is a active defender and no once trick pony. This season Mackenzie Sims was a major sleeper who seem to come from nowhere. Miss Sims has a bright future… Congrats to Mackenzie Sims!

“Mikayla is a versatile two-way player who can effectively operate both in the post and from the perimeter. Her athleticism, combined with strong defensive awareness and instincts, makes her a constant threat on the defensive end as well.”...Quote, Sean Sweeney, Head Coach, Southern Reg High School

MIKAYLA BLAHUT- 5’10”- FORWARD- SOUTHERN REG

She was one of the most productive freshman in the Shore this year. She was a model of consistency game in and game out from a stats standpoint. She had few poor performances, rare for a freshman. She had 288 points and 188 rebounds. She had 10 double/doubles and multiple games of 20 points or more. She was a force all season in the lane. She did all the dirty work for a Southern team that looks likes it’s on it way to become a possible Top 10 team next season. She is a excellent defender and had over a 100 steals last season. She is unselfish and got most of her work done by grinding and doing the intangibles. She is a player that coaches build their culture around. Southern has lots of outstanding young talent who can SCORE THE BALL. The sky’s the limit for this young lady and teammates…Congrats to MIKAYLA BLAHUT!
