LANEY KROSNOWSKI… A WINNER WITH A COMPETITIVE NATURE

St. Rose has two FIRST TEAM ALL DEFENSIVE PLAYERS in their backcourt. Belle Alvarado and BROOKE JAENICKE can wreck havoc on an opponents offense. Then have the ability to to change a game on the defensive side of the ball. This season St. Rose will be blessed with another future All Defensive First team player one day. Laney Krosnowski is just a sophomore and has already turned herself into a next level defender. But she brings much more than defensive to the table. Laney Krosnowski Is starting to look like a player with a very big future.

You never know when a player is going to emerge. There are so many things that must take place. But the one thing that always shines though is a player’s competitive nature. Laney Krosnowski’s competitive nature jumps off the page. The word grind is over used word these days. A kids goes all out one day and people say a kid is grinding. Well there is levels to grinding. Laney grinds in everything she does. She grinds everyday from start to finish. It can be when running sprints, doing shooting drills or in 1 v 1 games. It doesn’t matter, she will always give her coaches and teammates a full days work. She will run through a wall and always give 100%. These type kids are far and few between these days. Coach Hatfield and St. Rose are very lucky.

It takes a special type player who is willing to go backwards to move forward . Two summers ago Laney and her dad Alex made the decision to work on shooting the ball from a higher set point. They knew if Laney wanted to separate herself from most girls, this was a change that was needed. So she was willing to lose range and consistency in her shot. They knew it meant not shooting well in games. But rather than live for the day, trying to impress people in meaningless games. The two stuck with the game plan. You see Laney has no problem doing the hard things. It’s why these days she is an excellent shooter and has the high set points and consistency. Laney has added shooting to her next level quickness and ability to get by defenders. I’m talking real defenders not wanna defenders. Laney Krosnowski vision is truly next level stuff. She sees the entire floor and has tremendous respect for the ball. These are skill sets that will serve her well this coming season. Laney played a small role at St. Rose last year. Well with her development and confidence, she will be a impactful player this season… BANK ON IT!

I really believe there are two things all winners have in common, their energy level and competitive nature. LANEY it seems has a motor that never stops. She seems to never get tired. She does so many intangibles. Like diving on the floor, winning 50/50 balls. Blocking out bigger players, running back on defense after turnovers. You see Laney does the “WINNING SHIT”. She does the winning things because her competitive nature is off the charts. You see Laney Krosnowski wants to win at everything. She has set a standard for herself. She plays so hard your teeth sweat. Recently she played one of the best sophomore’s in all of New Jersey, a certain D1 player. She lost in her 1 v 1 matchup. She got taken over the coals. You see and feel the anger after that lost. Then the next week the two players were matched up again and LANEY’S very special competitive nature kicked in and Laney Krosnowski got payback and took out one of the best players in New Jersey in their rematch. Now you know why Laney Krosnowski in on her way to being a household name one day.

LANEY was hurt this fall and missed lots of time in recovering. It was no mistake she returned earlier than expected. Just like it’s no surprise when she goes home and shoots for a hour after a 2 hour workout. You see Laney Krosnowski is focused and determined to be among the best in the 2028 class one day. She is willing to make any and all sacrifices. She is coachable and relentless. It’s the reason why she has had a dynamic improvement in her game. It’s why she will get better every year. It’s why one day college coaches most certainly will come calling…. FOLKS YOU BEEN TOLD!
