BRIELLE ALABA AND BOSTON UNIVERSITY… NEVER SURRENDER!

I have seen it all during the recruiting process over the years. I have seen the weight of the process crush kids and families. It’s often the biggest decision of a young person’s life. I never seen a kid or a family handle the recruiting process with more grace while under fire than BRIELLE ALABA. I have never seen a kid more determined than BRIELLE ALABA. I have never seen a kid overcome more RECRUITING adversity. Brielle, is a story about deciding if you’re going to be a victim or survivor. BRIELLE ALABA, is one of the greatest survivors I have ever known. She will now will make her next move at BOSTON UNIVERSITY as she gave the Patriot School a commitment this summer.

There were many choices, some of the best engineering schools in the country offered, Ivy League schools offered, Patriot schools offered. BRIELLE ALABA, had options, too many to mention. But it seemed each place offered something special. But each it seems had a hitch. The campus wasn’t right, the location wasn’t right, the Ivy’s didn’t give scholarships. It seemed after all the work, Brielle was going to have to settle. The only problem with that is THOSE WHO WORK THE HARDEST ARE THE LAST TO SURRENDER. So BRIELLE ALABA and her family let the recruiting process march hard. They continued with the visits. Keep taking the phones calls and dealing with all the stress that the recruiting process brings. The waiting, lack of information in some cases. The pressure of telling good people she was not interested. Brielle Alaba went through the entire range of emotions. But it was worth because in the end she found her dream school in BOSTON UNIVERSITY.

BRIELLE ALABA, is that kid who when she makes a commitment, she is all in. She is a star at Cherokee High School. One of the best players in the state of New Jersey. She already scored 1000 points. She will one day be known as one of the greatest players in school history. She is totally loyal to her future Hall of fame Coach, Ron Powell. Her work ethic is special. She leaves nothing to chance. She drove a hour and 45 mins 2 -3 days a week to practice with her the Shoreshots AAU team. She gained 25 pounds of muscle last season. Brielle, is the type of kid who does less talking and more doing. She has improved every year and it’s not by mistake. It’s from hard work and having a real backbone. She is the poster child for working hard and not expecting a pat on the back. She truly believes it just how everyone is supposed to work, it just come natural to her. It just seems, she works a little harder than most.

BRIELLE ALABA, is one of 8 siblings. Her mom remarried after her father passed away. She is part of a blended tight family. Her step dad has been a angel to her mother and her sibling. He is what we call a real man. You would never know, Brielle lost her dad this because she is so mentally strong. Her younger sister will one day wear a D1 uniform as well. Brielle is the ultimate role model for her talented younger sister Nadia. But none of this is possible with her mom KRISTEN. That’s because she is a supermom. The women is simply a rock star. Kristen and her husband are both engineers. The same major Brielle will major in at Boston U. There is nothing she won’t do for her children. Like working all day. Then driving them to and from practice, a 3 hour trip. Then getting home at 10.30 at night and getting up early and doing it all over again. If you wonder where Brielle gets her work ethic from, look no further than here. The real hero in all this is her mother KRISTEN.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY, thinks they’re getting a really good player. They’re wrong, they’re getting a superstar. A player that will run though a wall for them. A player that will bring a serious IQ. A player who has been coached up by one of the best in the business in RON POWELL. A player that will bring so much flexibility and talent. Brielle, will be ALL FRESHMAN and a ALL CONFERENCE player at some point. That my friends you can bank on. She will be ready from day one. Unlike most kids who sign, Brielle has already began grinding and getting ready. She wouldn’t begin to know a shortcut while doing anything she does. This is a player who gives you everything on and off the court. She’ll grind in the weight room, the classroom and on the track… BRIELLE ALABA is just more mature and focused than most kids.

BRIELLE ALABA, called to tell me she would miss the first day of NBS because she would be on her official visit. It made me chuckle because here she was again doing the right thing again. She never wants anyone to thing she taking a shortcut. She then said “I’ll be there Sunday”. They just don’t make kids like BRI anymore. You know the hard workers, the mature respectful kids. The ones that when they say something, they mean it and follow through. The ones that refuse to settle. BOSTON UNIVERSITY IS GETTING A ROCK. A person they can count on. A person who’ll do all the winning shit! The scary part is she has has not touch the tip of her full potential, BRIELLE is going to be even better at the next level. BRIELLE ALABA is that person who will only get better and better… CONGRATULATIONS TO BRIELLE ALABA AND HER BEAUTIFUL FAMILY… it’s off to BOSTON U
