ANTONIA JACKSON AND GIANNA SANO… THE FUTURE!
Do you know who the best young back court in New Jersey is? Well if you don’t, let me help you out. They both play at the gold standard in New Jersey basketball, St. John Vianney. Gianna Sano and Antonia Jackson both are rising sophomore’s both are gym rats. Both are mega talented. Both have mega futures, both will one day wear Division one uniforms. These are facts not questions. Both are going to hold the future of SJV basketball in their hands. If you’re Coach Dawn Karpell, you have to like what the future looks like. But come “New Jersey Live” the dynamic duo may not be available. That’s too bad, if they don’t play, because the two re not only dynamic. But they are so much fun to watch.
If you haven’t seen ANTONIA JACKSON play, you missing out on greatness evolving right in front of your eyes. She is a blend of pure power and grace. She is scary skilled and plays with a quiet explosive style. She can play on or off the ball. She can game any type player. The quick, the small, tall , blind , cripple or crazy. That’s because she brings so much to the table with her college ready body. I have not seen a player with combination of skill and strength at her age in years. Last season Coach Karpell, threw the 1st Team All Freshman guard into the fire in some big moments. Coach Karpell, let Miss Jackson get a real taste of what big time high school basketball feels like. It’s risky business, especially with such a talented young player. Because you risk breaking the confidence of a future star. Antonia Jackson rose to the occasion and established herself as a future superstar. Sure there was bumps but the highs were impossible to miss. Antonia Jackson, is one day a Shore Conference Player of The Year Candidate. But come New Jersey Live we don’t know if she’ll be available. She has a high sprained ankle. It will be touch and go weather she plays or not. If you know Antonia, she will try to convince everyone she can play. If you know her parents. They will say “GO PLAY”. But if you know Dawn Karpell, she is not taking risk with one of the best FRESHMAN IN ALL OF NEW JERSEY. A future D1 player who college coaches will be begging for her signature.
GIANNA SANO, is the other part of SJV’s dynamic duo. She missed her entire freshman year due to injury. Trust me when I tell you this. Gianna Sano would have been an 1st Team All Freshman lock, if not for the injury. She was looking dynamic and unguard-able in her return. But she suffered an injury this.spring. It’s almost unfair that she may not be at JERSEY LIVE. There is no doubt she’ll want to play. But Coach Karpell knows she has the future GOAT of all point guards in New Jersey. She’ll make sure she protects her insanely talented guard. The one with a handle that breaks ankles like a full time job. The one who is so athletic you forget she is just 5’6”. The one who is shifty and quick, that guarding her is not a wonderful thought. Coaches may not get to see the passing skills that are so next level. They may not get to see a kid that plays with some much joy and passion it flows out of every pore in her body. Gianna Sano is a true modern day point guard. She can run a team, score and defend. She can impact the game in so many ways. She can do with it with style and IQ. She is one of the rare ones. She is that future D1 guard, college coaches dream about. But Coaches may have to wait to see her this summer. When a player is this talented… you do not take risk

So Antonia Jackson and Gianna Sano both are questionable for JERSEY LIVE. The best young backcourt in New Jersey may have to be spectators. That’s too bad because they are not just talented but fun to watch. They give the event pop and credibility. But that’s fine, they both play for the NJ GEMZ AAU TEAM. So if both get fully healthy, coaches will get to marvel at there gifts,.. gifts received FROM THE BASKETBALL HEAVENS!
