RAIN DWYER: THE GAME IS ABOUT TO CATCH UP WITH HER NAME

“I don’t care how many D1 offers you got. She is as good as any of you. In fact, she is better than most of you.”

— Tiny Green, talking about Rain Dwyer to the Shoreshots 2028 team

Rain Dwyer better start getting her props. And college coaches better start paying attention.

You see, Rain Dwyer is as good as any point guard in the best conference in America: the Shore Conference. I watch her week after week go to work against some of the best guards in New Jersey. She does it quietly. She kills you softly.

Don’t look for a thousand social media highlights. Watch her play. Watch her methodically cut up opponents like a professional chef. Her game is built on basketball IQ, incredible fundamentals, and an understanding of what winning actually means.

She makes the right pass. She takes the right shot. She protects the basketball. She understands accountability. And she knows that being a point guard is about making everyone around you better.

RAIN DWYER IS A +/- QUEEN.

The numbers add up when it comes to her production. She may not always be the player who fills up the highlight reel, but her impact on winning is impossible to ignore. The game changes when she is on the floor.

And now, the spotlight is about to get a whole lot brighter.

This season, Rain moves into prime time at Manasquan, the defending state champion and one of New Jersey’s most respected basketball programs. Manasquan has produced an incredible number of Division I players. Playing there means competing on a stage where every possession matters.

Rain is ready for that stage.

I watch her show up after school for shooting workouts, locked in and determined. While other players might get bored with the same drills, Rain sees an opportunity. One more repetition. One more chance to get better. One more step toward her goal.

That hunger is part of her DNA.

She is not going through the motions. She is on a mission. She wants college coaches to understand something that those of us who watch her closely already know:

SHE IS THE REAL DEAL. A WINNER. A GAME CHANGER.

I know the players who move the needle. I know the kids with real game. I know the ones who can step up when the competition gets serious, when the stakes are high, and when winning matters most.

Rain Dwyer is one of those players.

I have watched her compete against gifted players with big reputations. Some have more offers. Some have more exposure. Some have been celebrated for years.

But talent alone does not win basketball games.

Rain brings a competitive edge, a commitment to winning, and a level of discipline that separates her from the crowd. She does not need to announce how good she is. She lets the game speak.

And the game has plenty to say.

Rain has not always had the spotlight. She has not been built up by a big AAU brand or handed a shortcut to recognition. At Manasquan, she has had to be patient, earn her opportunities, and grow into her role.

She could have run somewhere else looking for a faster path. Instead, she stayed. She kept working. She kept getting better.

That matters.

Because the best players are not always the ones who get noticed first. Sometimes they are the ones who keep showing up, keep improving, and keep winning until nobody can ignore them anymore.

I believe that moment is coming for Rain Dwyer.

College coaches who know how to evaluate a point guard are going to see what she brings. They will see the decision-making, the poise, the competitiveness, and the ability to make a team better.

They will see a player who understands that the point guard position is not about collecting attention. It is about controlling the game.

When I looked at that Shoreshots team and challenged players with Division I offers to recognize Rain’s ability. I want them to understand what truth is about!

Now it is time for others to see it, too.

RAIN DWYER’S JOURNEY INTO THE SPOTLIGHT IS JUST BEGINNING.

And when the spotlight finally finds her, don’t be surprised if she is already busy making the right pass, making the right play, and helping Manasquan win another big game.

Because Rain Dwyer does not need to tell you she belongs.

She has been showing you all along.
