SHORE CONFERENCE SUMMER ENDING TOP 10/ALL SHORE TEAMS
It’s been an interesting summer. One that has been filled with surprises and some big moments. The AAU season certainly tells a story every year. The summer league action is always a peek into the future. Now the march towards the 2026-27 season begins. No season has ever been more wide open. There is no clear player of the year. There is no dominant team. The Top 10 is up for grabs. There are a few new faces but no mega stars that can flip a team over night. Today I will give you my thoughts as we start a new season.

SUMMER ENDING TOP TEN

- SJV– Then have seniors moving into prime time lead roles. The summer saw Tatum Sharpe (Lafayette College D1 commit) show she can be more than a defender. She has shown flashes of being a big scorer. Lissy Lyons( NYU COMMIT) has come full circle from entering SJV as a much touted baby to now finally looking like the player so many predicted. This year she will get extended minutes. If the summer is any indication of what to expect. LISSY LYONS is about to go out with a bang. ANTONIA JACKSON had what only can be described as a dream summer. She picked up multiple D1 offers and showed she can be a dominant force with what is expected to a great season. She too will finally get extended minute. GIANNA SANO has established herself as one of the best guards in all of New Jersey. She is the most experienced player on the roster as she played a major role in SJV’s season last year. The combo guard will run the point and control the SJV offense. She showed she is an electric scorer and dynamic passer. Her performance on the EYBL circuit was magnificent and she has established herself as one of the best guards on the tour. She has multiple D1 offers and expect her to be a ALL SHORE PLAYER. Then there is BROOK SOFILKANICH, who might be the most improved player in the Shore Conference. She had a excellent showing on the EYBL tour. But it was her outstanding performance at JERSEY LIVE that had everyone buzzing. She just may be the missing piece to get SJV to the finish line. AVERY BARTH, this summer has emerged and do not be surprised if the senior plays a bigger role than anyone expected. She in fact is beginning to look more and more like a D1 player, as she has been that good in recent weeks. She’ll play all three guard spots and SJV won’t miss a beat. Senior D1 softball player BRYNN UTTER, has seen important minutes at times in her career. She adds experience and helps SJV stretch their bench. The future for SJV is certainly in good hands. Freshman CECILIA VALENTEis a excellent ball handler and defender. Lefty JEFF PRATCHER is freshman that has the look of a future superstar. She was outstanding in Jersey Live. Do not be surprised if she breaks into the rotation as some point. The final Freshman is PARIS Ifill who size strength and talent. This freshman class is by far the best in the Conference. They are talented babies who will contribute when called upon. COACH DAWN KARPELL HAS THE TEAM TO BEAT.

2. MANASQUAN– This team is stacked with talented juniors and lots of talented young players on the roster and more in the way. CALISTA VOWTERAS, is the leading candidate for player of the year. She proven she is the next great guard in the Shore with an outstanding summer and AAU season. The junior is the best two way guard in the state. She is a high percentage shooter at all three levels. She’ll make a run at the defensive player of the year. Everything for Manasquan starts right here. RIAN DRYER is a seasoned guard who will handle the point guard duties. She’s made a dynamic jump as a player and clearly will be on the EARLY BIRD D1 LIST. She is not just a gym rat but a true warrior as well. She has a next level competitive nature. Molly O’BOYLE has clearly arrived. She has been outstanding in the summer league. She is showing all the versatility that should have D1 school watching her the next two years. She could have a monster season. PAIGE DONNELLY is the most under appreciated player on this roster. The sophomore does a little of everything. She is a tough defender and has shown she can not only score but do it in big moments. Expect Paige to have a big season. She has improved each season and this could be her breakout season. Now that she moves into a prime time role. If there is a secret weapon on this roster, it’s Senior ROSE LATESTA. Her growth has been shocking. The forward has been MVP in the summer Fort League. But more importantly she give Manasquan size and a player with real experience. She has taken her game to another level. Manasquan fans and college coaches are going to be surprised by her growth SINCE THE AAU LIVE PERIOD. This is a player coaches would be wise to revisit. She just may be the missing piece.REECE RAMPONE showed last year she could contribute and could get some minutes this season again. Freshman VANESSA VOWTERAS and KYLIE ANZZOLIN are both future ALL SHORE PLAYERS and D1 locks. They both may see limited time. But make no mistake if called upon they will be ready. LISA KUKODA is the biggest threat to SJV. But make no mistake. You BETTER GET THEM THIS YEAR..because next year they will be unbeatable.

3. COLTS NECK– They have been built from the bottom up. They are battle tested and no team in the Shore can match their chemistry. They have improved as a group each year and now are a serious threat to everyone. ALLISON McANDREW is a Player of the Year type. It’s no surprise she has D1 offers on the table. She has a serious competitive nature. The gym rat has played against the best of the best and proven, she is a force to be reckoned with. COLTS NECK is going nowhere without the best “TRUE” point guard in the state in EMILY DONAHUE. She is coming off an outstanding AAU season and has been lights out in the Fort League. Her leadership and winning personality make her a star in the conference. The future D1 guard holds the key to COLTS NECK’S success. Is JULIANNA JASINA the most underrated player in recent SHORE history that nobody talks about. The junior had almost 400 points and 200 rebounds last season. She’ll score her 1000th point this year. She is tracking as a COLTS NEXT ALL TIME GREAT and we refuse to acknowledge her greatness. She certainly will make a run at ALL SHORE FIRST TEAM. There is no reason to call AVERY WALLACE a role player anymore. She has proven she can take over games on both ends of the floor. She has been sensational this summer in the Fort League. She is battled tested and has a winning attitude. She is a warrior and the blood and guts of this COLTS NECK TEAM. Many will sleep in senior MATTILYN CAFFIERO and that’s a mistake. After a rock solid junior year. She has returned and shown not only can she defend. But has flashed some real offensive potential this summer. She is experienced and confident. She adds another level of toughness to this roster. She may not be a household name but she is an important part of the Colts Neck machine. JULIANNA CAMERA is another player that Coach Russo has full confidence in. She has played in some big games along the way. FRESHMAN McKenna Willis and Mae Delia with a solid preseason could both make a contribution. NICK RUSSO HAS A BATTLE TEST TEAM with real tightness

4. RBC– When Joe Montano’s team lost Ari Wissen. He did not just lose his best player. He lost experience, shooting and end of game toughness. RBC has talent, size. But lack shooting and chemistry due to inexperience and new faces. Sue Lashley has been a beast on the boards and getting to the free throw line and knocking them down. She has been RBC’s best player to date. She has a chance to have a breakout season. She has showed at times she is capable of making three’s and good decisions with the ball. Her lack of experience certainly is a issue at times. But every day she is at practice that becomes a non issue. She is very capable of taking over games. She is a future Division One player in time. CASEY ZAMMIT is proving she is the real deal. She is a high percentage +/- player most likely RBC’s best right now. She has D1 offers on the table and that’s because her game is taking off. She just may be the most gifted player on the RBC roster. Her ability to knock down the three and get to the rim is impressive. All she needs is time. FRESHMAN SOFIA RUDE has shown flashes this AAU and summer season. When she gets settled in, she will become a walking double/double. Her basketball IQ is outstanding she brings real size to the table. There is no question she is the best Freshman in the class. The only thing she is missing is time and reps. Look for her to become a dominant player at some point during the season. ABBY STURM gives RBC some size and strength in the post. She is coming off a bout with mono. She will need to provide some post scoring and rebounding persence. NAT WHITEHEAD is a GYM RAT and has been RBC’s most improved player and most productive three point shooter. She certainly gives RBC a shot in the arm from an offensive standpoint. She proved she can get it done on the big stage. Her performance at Jersey Live was eye popping and she has been sensation in the Fort League. She also has shown a real ability to defend and Joe Montano loves that part of her game. AVERY GOLDFEDER knows the RBC system and could be the key to this team. She is a real teammate that doesn’t bring drama to the table. She is smart and has had a rock solid AAU season and has gained real experience in the Fort League. She could be a real asset for RBC in many ways both on and off the court. DANIELLA BARAZOTTI could solve a lot of problems because of her talent and feel for the game. She may be the player that brings it all together for RBC. Her likeability may be just what this team needs to become a tight unit on a most importantly off the court. Freshman RILEY ZAMMIT will need to grow up in a hurry. RBC has work to do. But they have the thing that matters most….TALENT. Joe Montano has his hands full now can he get buy in and chemistry by February? I WOULD NOT BET AGAINST HIM. THIS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS TEAM IN THE SHORE CONFERENCE

5. NEPTUNE– This ranking may be a little low. That’s because if TY HOWARD returns fully recovered. John Brown has the best player in the conference. Ty Howard is not just explosive and talented. She has a real competitive nature and can take over games. She is the one player in the shore Conference who can take a top team out but single handedly. MAJIAH QUARLES is experienced and has been in the wars. She scored over 200 points and is a matchup nightmare because of her ability to get to the rim. She knocked down 57 free throws last year and this summer appears stronger and more locked in. LANA ELLINGTON plays with power, speed and non stop energy. The senior will be looking at an All Shore season. She was spectacular this summer. Last year she had over 300 points and 200 rebounds and 76 steals. She too will make a run at ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM. She is a star in the Shore and few know it. BRYANNA EDGERSON is a beast. The junior is a rebounding machine and warrior in the lane. Last year she had 200 points and 200 rebounds, she will make that look like child’s play this season. This young lady is hungry folks. The word on the street is that she has developed a nice jumper to go with all that power. Junior JACENIA FURMAN is a seasoned player who Neptune can count on. She is rock solid senior and seniors matter. LONDON CAREY Is another impact player in this roster. She had big moments in big games a year ago. Her ability to knock down threes make her a dangerous weapon. She had 49 steals as a role player last year. She is another piece for Coach Brown. THIS IS THE MOST UNDERRATED TEAM IN THE SHORE CONFERENCE

6. ST. ROSE– They have a team of guards and all can defend. In fact it may be the best group of defensive guards in the Shore. This could be a sleeper team. Senior CALLIE DECKER has stepped up in the Fort League with some outstanding performances. She could be wearing a D1 uniform next year. She been that good. She has had monster shooting nights this summer. Senior BROOKE JAENICKE is the best on ball defender on plant earth. The gym rat has also proven she can score this summer. She has become a two way player and that’s good news for St. Rose. She is the leading candidate for defensive player of the year. Make no mistake who will be running the show for St. ROSE this year. LANEY KROSNOWSKI is one of the most improved players in the conference. Her passing, leadership and ability to shoot has been impressive. This is a player that impacts the game in so many ways. Throw in the fact that she is a top defender and you got the best keep secret in the shore. PEYTON CLARK returns this year after a solid freshman season season. She took the summer off to get healthy. But she is a dynamic ball handler and score when she gets going. Look for Peyton to take a major step forward as she is now healthy and ready to go. NATALIE BOWES give St Rose an inside presence. Look for BRIELYNN COOPER to build on last year. She had real moments a year ago. She’s had a excellent summer playing highly competitive competition for the NJ RISE. She may be a real surprise. She has a chance to make a real difference on this team. KELSEY NITCHE, JULIETTE GOMES. Both hope to make a contribution this year. But the biggest change for St. Rose is the arrival of of GEORGIA D’ANGELO. She transferred from point where she scored 279 points, grabbed 113 rebounds and had 69 assists with 50 steals. This is a major pickup. More importantly she has been in the gym all summer. CHRISSY HATFIELD’S ST. ROSE TEAM IS THE MOST INTERESTING TEAM.

7. TOM RIVER EAST– They bring back almost their entire roster. KACEY BRILES Is a pit bull who scored over 250 points and had over 100 rebounds. KYLIE PALADINO Returns with her 200 points. CILEY FRANCIS returns as well as others. They have all this and of course the big piece in LIBBY DICKMAN who scored over 380 points and is coming off an outstanding summer. This roster is made up of two sport highly competitive killers and are insanely well coached. Last year they had some big wins and this year they may be looking to surprise everyone. This ranking may be way to low in the end

8. BRICK TWP – This may seem high for a team that just lost the leading scorer in the conference. But KENDALL FREDRICKSEN looks clearly right to step up and play the role of star player. She has been off the charts this summer at the FORT after an excellent AAU season. She has shown an ability to score at every level, run the Brick offense and then be a stopper on defense. She has clearly arrived. Brick has to be excited about ANNACLAIRE STAUDT who has had some monster games this summer at the Fort. The senior has been dominant in posting Double/Doubles and having 20 point scoring nights. LIVE DOLAN is a multiple sport player who started last year. Once soccer ends she’ll be a nice addition. ILY POZO and CHASE STANSBURY will be asked to be more consistent. Both had excellent moments a year ago and have a season of AAU under their belt. HAILEY MULHEARN was cooking before she had to shut down for 3 weeks. She could be a real sleeper impact player for Brick. She is a deadly shooter. VALENTINA VALSHI is the best athlete on the team. Freshman AIYONNA WALKER is big and strong. She is an excellent rebounder and has natural ability. She played well in her Fort debut. If she gets serious she can be a big addition. BRICK HAS SOME PIECES… now can it all come together is the question

9. TRINITY HALL– They are in rebuilding mode. ELLA KRYAL was the Freshmen of the year and returns. She is the only returning proven scorer on the roster. She will see face guarding and double teams all year. Someone else must step up. GIANNA SCHOOR May be the best bet to add shooting to this roster. She has real size and is a proven shooter. KATHERINE MCCARTHY has gotten major minutes this AAU and summer season. She may be the only thing from forcing Coach McCarthy from having to use ELLA KRYAL at the point. She is a high IQ player who is a next level passer. She also has showed she is willing to score. Don’t be surprised if she has a break out season. LYLA LU started must of last season and is a tough hard nose battled test player. Her experience will be needed. ANNA NOBLE Will get be asked to step up this year. She saw occasional minutes last season. This year she move into the starting lineup. Freshman MADELYN STRUBBLE has all the makings of a future D1 player and all shore type performer. The 6’2” forward has made major strides in the past year. She has been better than expected in the Fort league. There is no doubt, Trinity has a player then can build around in the future. Jackson transfer Anjali Biradiraju comes to TRINITY HALL from Jackson. She is experienced and will give Trinity Hall a lift off the bench. TRINITY HALL IS A WORK IN PROGRESS… they’ll need to develop some gym rats to take the next step

10. SOUTHERN REG– They won 17 games last year and do not lost an impact player. This certainly could be way to low of a ranking. They bring back a boat load of scoring and have not lost any major player. They not only had some big wins last season. They played almost everyone down to the wire. This crew is now battle tested in a major way..
