Today I am going to just talk about anything that pops up in my head. A kind of lighting round of basketball goodies. There will be no game plan here today, just a few thoughts and opinions.
If you ask me, what’s the key to RBR this year, it’s if there guards can handle pressure in the backcourt. That’s because there half court offense is the best run system in the shore conference. If RBR beats pressure consistently this year, watch out; They could shock everyone and win the GROUP 3 STATE TITLE . TRINITY HALL is in the state boat . WHITNEY HOBSON is key for TRINITY, they’re very good with on the floor and very ordinary without her on the floor playing well. Finally, I say if Shannon Heine has a a breakout season, MANASQUAN can play the spoiler role in a big
Watching video from last year and what do I see? SJV lost a big piece in Julia Karpell. She brought a lot of things that don’t show up in the box score. Like big shot making ability, great off ball defense and leadership. I think replacing what she brought to the table is not going to be as easy as folks think for SJV.
Some kids with big reputations, struggled shooting the ball this summer and some struggled in the fall, week after week shooting the ball. The strange part is nobody seems to want to tell them to stop shooting. I get struggling but week after week? That’s a red flag
I love GRACE FENNEY’S game all fall. . Put her on any other brand name team and she’d be a serious player of the year candidate. But Trinity Hall simply is not going to get enough hype or play in enough big Showcases. But if she has a great season and Trinity Hall wins enough games. I have no problem giving her my vote if she deserves it.
Now that the open gym period is basically over and practice is starting in New Jersey. How many kids realize the next important recruiting window is EARLY DECEMBER and JANUARY? I doubt many understand this. Because if they did, I know kids would be working harder. The portal has changed the recruiting period. I see a few new kids landing on my April EARLY BIRD D1 list… well KYLEE BEAN is certainly on the list now as a D1 lock…
I really believe seniors are the key to a team having a productive season. OLIVA SHAUGHNESSY, CHRISTINA LIGGIO AND CAROLINE POLLOWAY have been straight up sensational in setting the table for their teams this fall. The fall always tells you what to expect from your seniors ….ALWAYS!
Well there are four players who will take major steps up this season. The status of these players will see a dynamic impact on the Shore Conference This group will help their teams get over the top and go to another level. Thanks to their development . ASHLEY KREIGER,, TATUM SHARPE, BROOKE MISSRY, SYNAI BLYCHANTON
This 2028 class is loaded. The talent is deep. But keep in mind the last is full of level headed players who I believe will get better each day
