Today I am going to give the names of the 5 biggest POWER BROKERS in the Shore Conference. These are the people, when they call everyone is available to take there call. There are always people who pretend to be power brokers……BUT REAL POWER BROKERS LIKE IT OR NOT …CALL THE SHOTS AND HAVE REAL JUICE.

REAL POWER BROKERS BRING THESE THINGS TO THE TABLE

1. Everyone knows their name
2. They have a major TRACK RECORD of success 
3. They have real Regional Knowledge.
4. You need them, they don’t need you
5. They control the environment 
6. They understand there power and influence 
7. They have massive D1 TALENT throughout their organization 
8. They deliver on their promises 
9. Their surrounded by haters (if there not hating on you, your probably not doing shit)
10. They’ve Cultivated Relationships over the years

JOE MONTANO

RED BANK CATHOLIC 

For the 3rd year in a row to nobody’s surprise Joe Montano sits at the top of this list. Nobody carries the weight of Joe Montano in the entire state of New Jersey, BOYS OR GIRLS. He has absolute power over the RED BANK CATHOLIC program. His has won more games than any coach in Shore history. He also has won every title a coach can win at the high school level multiple times, including a 10th State title last year. . His players go to the best colleges. No program centers more on the high school experience than his. The RBC program goes way beyond basketball. Joe Montano prepares his players for life. His  current crop of talent, is something we have not seen the likes of in decades and now you understand why he is by far the biggest power broker of all these days. Joe Montano and his RBC team are the Yankees of girls basketball. The name on the front of the jersey is bigger than any one player and Joe Montano is the biggest power broker in girls basketball. Period and he has the #6 RANKED team in the country.

TRACEY SABINO

TRACEY SABINO moves up to the 2nd spot on our list. That’s because has simply dominated the AAU world. It’s the main reason she is the only AAU COACH ON OUR LIST. Her program has more D1 players than all other programs combined. .She has cornered the market on the best players in the area by doing two things. Only taking kids who believe in her vision and way of doing things. Then staying deeply loyal to her players and coaches. She simply weeds out trouble making parents. The talent in her program at all age groups is staggering, giving her program legs for years. Her HGSL affiliation has been a booming success . She has had as many as 16 teams in her organization. Most impressive is how she has upgraded her organizations coaching tree. She has former D1 coaches and some of the most successful high school coaches in New Jersey currently in the Shore shots organization. College Coaches flock to her teams game because of the respect they have for her for her and her organization. Every member of this years U17 and U 17 “B” has a scholarship. Every member of the U16 team except one has a D1 offer. The lone player without one has a D2 full offer. This is unheard of these days, in the era of the portal. No AAU coach has the eyes and ears of coaches like Sabino…she has more power than any current AAU coach or program No program delivers on there word more. SHE IS A POWER POWER OF THE HIGHEST LEVLEL.

DAWN KARPELL

ST. JOHN VIANNEY

She has built a machine at SJV. She is arguably the best coach in the country.. Her teams have dominated the state in recent years. Her teams are national ranked annually and has rose to as high as #3 in the nation. SJV has won 5 straight SHORE CONFERENCE TITLES IN A ROW. That’s because no coach has prepared and developed her talent like Coach Karpell. She has built SJV with an exciting and fun style of basketball. When her team enters a building it’s like watching the Taylor Swift enter. Her teams give any event their in instant credibility and pop. College Coaches know a SJV kid will not just be prepared for college but they will excel. Coach Karpell, has been heavily involved in the AAU world for years, something that now has become fashionable for coaches. Her dedication to her players and the girls game is legendary and did not start recently but rather years ago. Her current group of players includes some of the best young talent in New Jersey. She also  has some of the most highly recruited played in the country on her roster. There is a case.to be made she is the GOAT of girls basketball…COACH DAWN KARPELL IS A POWER BROKERS FOR THE AGES.

MATT McCARTHY

THRINITY HALL

Matt McCarthy is new to this list.. He has turned a down and out program into one of the best in the Shore. TRINITY HALL has gone from a laughing stock to a major player. He has turn the program into a legit threat to all programs. He has turned a number of kids into gym rats and D1 talents. Nina Emnace was the Player of The Year in the Shore thanks to Matt McCarthy. He has jumped into the AAU world and that has opened  new doors to new talent. He has convinced coaches to attend OPEN GYMS. He has used his former college background to good use, because he is building relationships up down the East Coast. His players are attending the best schools in the country. The Harvard and Princeton Universities of the world, now trust his word. It has led to Trinity Hall earning the respect of college coaches everywhere. Last year his team took another step and made it to the Shore semi final before losing in OVERTIME  to SJV.  Something that was laughable to believe before Matt McCarthy’s arrival. He has built a program not a team. College coaches know the difference. Clearly so does some of the best young talent in New Jersey. That’s because he is not getting blue chip recruits and challenging the RBC and SJV’s of the world for the best young players. Again something that never seemed possible until Matt McCarthy showed up … THIS IS A UP AND COMING POWER BROKER OF A NEW KIND!

SHANNON COYLE

LONG BRANCH HIGH SCHOOL 

This may come as a surprise  to many who do not know her background. Shannon Coyle may be the head coach of Long Branch High School. But those in the know, understand the bigger picture. She is the CEO and face of the EYBL NJ GEMZ. The program that has the most talented players in the entire state. Her team is loaded with future P5 stars. If your a college coach she in your phone book with a star next to it. The GEMZ play the best competition and she has managed to build an entire lineup of impressive teams in all age groups. Her 2029 team has some of the best young talent in the state. They lost one game all summer. Next she has top flight coaches up and down her organization. Shannon Coyle is the person a kid calls when trying to jump up a level in talent. Finally, she is an excellent coach. So much that many believe she belongs on the college D1 level…Shannon Coyle,  is well known and respected by all in the college coaching world for her honestly and knowledge. It why she talks to the real mega star coaches of college basketball. She has the ears of just about every D1 coach in the county.
