Nationally 5th Ranked and state champion Red Bank High School is in the process of reloading and might have just found the foundational piece in SUMAIYAH LASHLEY to keep the party rolling. She flashes real gym rat habits as she lives in the gym 7 days a week. Don’t blink or you’ll miss one of the most promising talents in New Jersey. She was the only freshman in the entire state to break the lineup on a TOP contending team. She played with 8 D1 committed players last season. Giving her dream like practices all season, while matching up vs Macdonald All American Addy Nyemchek daily. She rewarded RBC was some memorable moments in big spots on big stages last season . At a legit 5’11+, with a basketball body coaches can only dream about. Sue Lashley presents all types of matchup problems for opponents. She can rotate between playing point forward to a post up scorer and facilitator. She is a dynamic offensive rebounder. She is a Mack truck off the bounce with a high IQ and ability to read 2nd level defenders. Her passing may be a gift All American teammate Addy Nymchek left behind for her.
Sue Lashley is a universal defender as she can guard pick-and-roll, rotate to all guard positions and defend bigs. She is capable of playing all sorts of coverages thanks to her hyper mobility on the perimeter and her extraordinary length and instincts as a rim protector. She plays at an elite pace in transition on both sides of the ball. Butb has no problem doing the dirty work when the game slows down. Lashey has remarkable end-to-end speed, and confidence as a ball handler to lead a teams fast break. Sue flashes perimeter shooting ability, but it’s a work in progress and clearly evolving

This is a player who does not care about stats .. she is not a box score junkie. Her leadership skills is her true super power. This is well rounded and adjusted young player off the court. Be very careful and pay attention more to her high school setting than AAU SETTING. She plays for the stacked Philly Rise team. Her development and Inner circle will need to step up in order for her to reach TOP 50 player status in the country one day…. It’s a real possibility.
