TESSA LIGGIO- RED BANK CATHOLIC- SENIOR

To compare any point guard to Tessa Liggio in New Jersey would be an insult to her and unreasonable. Tessa Liggio out played every single top point guard in the state this past season. That is a fact not a statement. She has been the ultimate leader for RBC the past 4 years. Her ability to to step up in the biggest games against the best teams and opponents has become not just a fact but a tradition. No RBC point guard in recent years can compare to her. These are strong words when you read the list of great RBC point guards. She has been the ultimate floor leader and competitor. Her show stopping 21 point performance vs SJV in the SCT FINAL was just one of many great moments in a career filled with special moments, shots, passes and leadership. When you look at her stats they are breathtaking. 700 points 450 rebounds from the point guard spot and over 450 assists. This is not to mention she is the greatest ball protector maybe in Shore Conference history. Tessa Liggio is the type of point guard you get once in every career as a coach. She will go down in RBC history as a ALL TIME GREAT… she won everything there is to win multiple times. Once was never enough as she won multiple SCT TITLES… STATE CHIPS… NATIONAL RANKINGS. While out playing every top guard she has ever seen over and over through the years. TESSA LIGGIO will attend BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY of the Patriot League… CONGRATULATIONS TO TESSA LIGGIO of RBC on being named FIRST TEAM ALL SHORE

ERIN REID – RUMSON FAIR HAVEN- SENIOR

Erin Reid just finished off one of the best seasons in RFH recent history. Nobody saw this type of year coming from the talented senior. To say she checked every box this year would be an understatement. It’s the reason Coach Callahan had this to say about his once in a lifetime senior

The eyes never lie.

I first met Erin Reid at a 7 a.m. workout at Victory Park in Rumson when she was just 12 years old. She was holding her own against older, more experienced girls, and it was immediately clear she was special. She wasn’t the most skilled player on the court that day, but she played with rare enthusiasm and ferocity. She refused to back down from anyone, even girls 5-6 years older than her.

You could see it in her eyes: she genuinely wanted to be great, and she was willing to do whatever it took. Erin soaked up every bit of coaching. She simply loved being on the court.

Outsiders said she needed to become a better shooter, so she spent hours in the gym until she developed into a feared three-point threat. When told her ball-handling needed work, she attacked that weakness too—drilling with coaches and trainers until she could attack the basket confidently with either hand. Every doubt or perceived flaw became fuel. Erin turned criticism into strength.

The one thing she never needed coaching on was effort. Born into a family of boxers, playing hard is in her blood. She rebounded, defended, and hustled relentlessly, developing into one of the most feared players in New Jersey.

As a senior at Rumson-Fair Haven (RFH), Erin averaged 16.6 points, 10 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 2.1 assists per game. She finished her high school career with 1,247 points, 810 rebounds, 259 steals, and 193 assists. This season, RFH placed in the top four in the Shore Conference and delivered several impressive victories.

Ask opposing coaches why their team came up short, and the answer is always the same: “They had Erin Reid, and we didn’t.”

An All-State and All-Shore selection, Erin Reid proved the doubters wrong—though those who truly knew her never doubted her for a second. After all, It was always in her eyes!

Need I say more? ERIN is off the up and coming IVY Power BROWN UNIVERSITY… congratulations to ERIN REID on being named FIRST TEAM ALL SHORE

STELLA LOCKHART- ST. JOHN VIANNEY-SR

The journey to SJV by Stella Lockhart has been one heck of a ride. Few players have worked so hard, accomplished so much and received so little in return. Stella Lockhart is a winner and a big winner. She has been one of the most versatile players in the state of New Jersey. Her ability to dominate opponents on offense with scoring, passing and rebounding was at times seem dream like. She has been the ultimate teammate over the years. She has won over 100+ games in a SJV uniform. She has won the SCT and State titles. She has been part of National ranked teams Stella has played against and dominated the best players in her time at SJV. She scored 958 points in JUST 3 years at SJV. She also had over 500 rebounds. It’s clear that STELLA LOCKHART will be remembered for years to come. Her legacy in intact and will be remembered by all that have seen her play. Few have accomplished so much in a short period of time. STELLAR LOCKHART will attend GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY of the Big East. She finishes her career with a bang as a FIRST TEAM ALL SHORE NEMBER …. Congratulations to to Stellar Lockhart.

KATIE LIGGIO- RED BANK CATHOLIC-SENIOR

She entered RBC as just a shooter. She was labeled by many as they tried to throw her in a box. It didn’t work because first of all Katie Liggio is a gym rat. It’s why she trusted Coach Montano and became an excellent defensive player and hid that fact over her senior year. She never let on that she had become a problem on defense. She let everyone believe she was just a shooter. The All Time 3 points made shooter in RBC history. Breaking JUSTINE PISSOTT’S all time record. This year Katie Liggio scored her 1000th point becoming only the 16th player in RBC history to do so. That list looks like her who’s who of girls basketball. Katie Liggio broke the backs and souls of too many teams to mention over the years. This season it seemed she took it to another level. She had more big threes in big moments than you can count. There is no question she will go down as the greatest shooter in RBC history. The real question is where does she rank in Shore history. We will never know for sure but we know the roll call will not take long to call her name. There really was nothing left for Kathe Liggio to do after RBC won the SCT and made sure she had the ball as time expired. KATIE LIGGIO had knee surgery and missed the SCT and State Final. It became a rallying cry for her teammates to win it all for Katie and that’s exactly what what they did. KATIE LIGGIO will attend THE UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND. Of the Atlantic 10 Conference… congratulations to KATIE LIGGIO in making our FIRST TEAM ALL SHORE TEAM.
