2025-26 SHORE CONFERENCE PREVIEW “B” SOUTH

B” SOUTH is the best Division in Ocean County this season. They have an upstart team and a bunch of teams with multiple sports athletes chasing them. This division has all the making of a exciting year

THE FAVORITE

THE COACH: Kevin Stockhoff

BRICK TWP is the clear favorite. They have the best player in the league in Sophomore ARI WISSEN but they all have one the best Sophomores in the Shore in KENDALL FREDRICKSEN. This is team that size, shooters and boat load of potential. They have a supporting cast that played lots of minutes a season ago. They are wiser and more prepared as a group this year and start the season in the Top 10. They alone is a big step towards the future as this team does not lost an impact player for next years.

THE LINEUP:

ARI WISEEN- SOPH- COMBO- She is an elite sscirer from either the wing or the point. She has range from the heavens. The freshmen of the year last season. She has gotten stronger and wiser. She will be in the hunt for All Shore. She is a walking bucket and as Ari Wissen go, so goes Brick Twp.

KENDALL FREDRICKSEN- SOPH- COMBO- Last year she was a stand still shooter. This year she has emerged into a complete player. The future D1 guard has added a dribble handle to her package. She gets to the rim with ease and finishes or gets fouled. She can play the point and run the offense as well. She looks like she is ready for a monster season.

ANNACLAIRE STAUDT – 6’1”- FORWARD- She is big and strong. She not afraid to throw her body around. She is an excellent rebounder. She has gained valuable experience over the past two years. She could be the difference for Brick getting to the level.

JULIA STEPHAN – 6’1”- SOPH- Her upside is huge and if she shows up all bets are off. She is long, athletic and can shoot the ball. She runs the floor and has show flashes of being an excellent rebounder and shot blocker . She got valuable minutes last year and comes into the season with confidence. She may hold the keys to BRICK becoming a Top team

CHASE STANSBURY- SOPH- GUARD- She is pit bull on defense and willing to do the grunt work. She is athletic and has show an ability to to knock down three’s

ILYANI POZO- SOPH- WING- she got valuable experience big game experience last season as she was part time starter and played a major role in the Brick success. She is an excellent three point shooter who can get rolls. She is a solid ball handler and defender. She will become a full time starter this year.

SUMMER FENWICK- SR- GUARD- She is a hard nose tough minded player. She will be ready when called upon. She will provide senior experience.

SENIORS KAITLYN WILSON and ASHLEY CALI  both will provide energy and be ready to fill in the gaps when called upon.

HAILEY MULHEARN 5’6”- COMBO- She is an excellent shooter and reliable ball handler. She is a freshman that will see real minutes in real games. Her three point shooting is a major factor.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

This is a much improved team. They are older, stronger, wiser and better as individuals. Ari Wissen will carry the bulk of the offense but will get lots of support from KENDALL FREDRICKSEN. There two bigs will try to control the glass and provide rim protection. This is surprising deep team with lots flexibility. Look for them to get better each week of th season. They could be very dangerous come SCT time.

THE QUESTIONS?

Can they defend consistently against top competition. Ext can they handle full court pressure it was a real problem a year ago. Finally who other than KENDALL FREDRICKSEN will step up when Ari Wissen gets game planned on most nights?

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

This is the team of the future. They have talent up and down the roster than be be developed. They have bigger goals than winning “B” SOUTH. A deep run in the WOBM would send a nice message for starters.

THE CONTENDERS.

THE SPOILERS

TOMS RIVER SOUTH– You know they are going to be well coached. Christine Scherm has done an excellent job in making TRS highly competitive. TRN won 11 games last year and hopes to improve on that this season. All everything LINSEY CRIBBIN  returns. The junior was outstanding last year. She did it all with over 300 points, 115 rebounds and 33 threes. She will make a case for All Shore and Division player of the year. The athletic and aggressive DANIELLA GORDON returns for her sophomore years with tons of minutes u see her belt. She proved she is a reliable scorer with over 200 points. That number certainly will increase this season. HALEY JOHNSON returns for her sophomore years season. She was a pleasant surprise with over 100 points and 80 rebounds. She to will expand on those number this year. KELSEY WEATHERSTONE is a senior who has been in the wars and brings experience and calming presence to the team. She is the X FACTOR when things get tight. TOMS RIVER SOUTH is a young hungry team and they are looking to do big things. Kids like CAROLINE KEENAN and STEPHANIE FULLEN are looking to step in do their part. Both played major roles last season and only expect more of themselves. This group will be looking to give Brick a little payback

SOUTHERN AUDREY ERNST, GABRIELLA LUM and KAYDEN BULGER will hold down the fort for Southern in the scoring column . This a crew with size and catch someone sleeping. GRACE LUM has proven to be a force and her sister Grace has shown to be very reliable. This team is dangerous

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

TRS and SOUTHERN both have enough to knock off BRICK. But it will take a great performance on the defensive end. Both programs saw improvement last year, now the question is can they take the next step.

.ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

LACEY is very capable of surprising one of the favorites. TOMS RIVER NORTH is in full rebuilding mode. PT BEACH simply do not have enough righ now

MY PICK

BRICK is the heavy favorite … I SAY BRICK WINS “B” SOUTH
