SHORE CONFERENCE WEEK #2…. TOP 10

THIS WEEK’S TOP 10 saw some teams wave goodbye and some old faces return. For all the talk about the separation between SJV and RBC from the field. We discovered it’s just that …TALK. After losing to PAUL VI, SJV needed to muster up all the ghost of the past to defeat #3 ST ROSE. Meanwhile RBC needed Addy Nymchek to put in her superwoman’s cape to escape South Shore of NYC. If we discovered anything the first two weeks it this. There is no super power lurking around the Shore Conference. We saw Emily Donahue of Colts Neck have a dream freshman night with a 21 point performance only to be out done by Ari Wissen of Brick with 25 points in a three point win. The Shore currently has 6 teams ranked in the Top 20

RBC is a tough call at #1 for the simple reason they are underperforming right now and still winning. But isn’t that the key to great teams, they find a way. Christina Liggio has been remarkably consistent. Addy Nymchek saved the day all weekend.

SJV was not ready to play vs Paul VI and paid the price. Stella Lockhart was outstanding all weekend and Madison Kocis may not be the darling of bloggers and media but she is SJV leading scorer and a top rebounder

ST ROSE has SJV on the ropes and let them get away. They paid the price in the 2nd half. Jada Lynch was outstanding. But it wasn’t enough. They still look very dangerous, despite the missed opportunity.

RBR is just rolling along. SYNAI BLYCHANTON had an 32 point performance and Caroline Polloway has have been on a mission. Both have been just what the doctor ordered

MANASQUAN they ran all over RANNEY without Olivia Shaughnessy. Then lost in overtime in the Shore games. Lisa Kukoda will take that for now or at least until she gets her D1 guard back

TRINITY HALL got by RFH in the road. That was a solid and much needed win. They have not put it all together yet. They went to the Southern Tournament and that should help the confidence.

NEPTUNE has not played a competitive game to date. But Christa Ramos and Bre Evan’s are putting up big Numbers

Howell returns to Top 10 after crushing the competition. Kylee Bean and KERIA McKown have been outstanding. But it’s been the play BELLAROSE MARINO that has everyone excited she had 23 vs MONROE

PT. BORO ran through the competition in their 1st game of the season. Just about everyone got to eat and they are very dangerous

RFH had two loses this week including a barn burner vs #20 SADDLE RIVER DAY. I say they pass the eye test. Once again RFH has exceeded expectations early in the season . Sophomore Grace Smith has been a wonderful surprise and Erin Reid had a breakout game vs SRD with 15 points and 14 rebounds
