There is only one place in the country where college coaches will come to see a local high school event during the live period…That place? The SHORE CONFERENCE. Coaches know that the talent in the shore is like no other place on planet earth. They eat, sleep and breathe basketball from the moment they can walk, in the Shore. The competitive nature of the players and the intensity of the coaches cannot matched…ON WEDNESDAY AT RED BANK REGIONAL….THE MAROON AND WHITE WAR AT THE SHORE RETURNS.

Monday 43 future Division one players will start to lace them up at James Young and Tom Sclafani driven event. No high school event anywhere has so many D1 players in one spot. But what makes the Maroon and White so special is that, there are kids college coaches will learn about for the first time. The shore is notorious for talented players being overlooked because of the depth of talent in the conference. The Maroon and White is a D2 and D3 coaches’ dream event. It’s a place to find that mega talented kid before other schools catch on. It’s a place where you can find a dream player, when nobody else knew she would one day be special. A player like Julia Ramos who sat behind 4 D1 guards for 3 years, now it her turn and if you don’t know her you will….because she will be at The Maroon and White, the home for Shore DIVISION ONE sleepers.

Dara Mabrey is one of a kind

But the Maroon and White is also the place where the big girls play as well. There are babies like Dara Mabrey, Faith Masonius and Lola Mullaney who all may one day decide to play at Power 5 conference schools if they choose. These players who will one day grow up to be program changing players, if the right school steals them. The Maroon and White is the place you learn about these kids before they become household names.

Jenna Paul lived up to the hype and some..

This year some of the best freshman in the entire state of New Jersey will be on hand. Kayla Richardson (Middletown South)… Molly Lynch (St. Rose)… Fabienne Eggenschwiler (RBC) and Camryn Foltz(Colts Neck) all will be stars one day and are at the Maroon and White. The Maroon and White is where you come to get your first peek at the future great, the ones whose names we all will be repeating over and over in the next four years. But some of the best freshman in New Jersey will be on hand this year…Jenna Paul, Brielle Bisogno of TRN, along Sara Karpell(SJV) and Rahmena Henderson(Neptune) all are future D1 stars. The Maroon and White is where you can brag about seeing them before they became local folk heroes.

kimi evans

The face of the Shore Conference.. KIMI EVANS

What high school event would feature a Top 50 player in the country? Only one the Maroon and White that’s who. The Maroon and White has the best senior in the state Kimi Evans who ranked as one of the Top 50 players in the country. It has the best junior in the state in Dara Mabrey, the best sophomore in Faith Masonious, and if the truth be told I just put the papers in to officially to make Kylee Watson shore adopted so it’s a clean sweep…lol. ….THE MAROON AND WHITE HAS SOME BAD WOMEN FOLKS

The defending State Champs St. John Vianney will be at the Maroon and White this year. The pre-season #1 team for the upcoming season Manasquan will on hand at well. A team who just may be playing for a National Title, St Rose will be on hand. There will 6 teams who will start the year in the Top 10 at the Maroon and White. They will be 8 teams in the State Top 20 at this year’s Maroon and White. There is only one place you can go and get a peek at the 2016-17 season. THAT’S THE MAROON AND WHITE.

High Major guard Tori Hyduke has offers

The Maroon and White is the only place to see seniors who have already committed to D1 schools. DEZZY ALLEN (NJIT) ADDIE MASONIOUS (WAGNER) STELLA CLARK (NORTHEASTERN), COURTNEY DORZYNSKI, LUCY THOMAS (MONMOUTH), HANNAH SCANLAN and others. It’s the only one place to go see multiple seniors who have given D1 commitments. It’s the only conference where juniors like Rose Caverly, Tori Hyduke, Mikayla Markham, and Lucy Thomas among others get scholarships offers. It’s the only place sophomores get scholarship offers on the table. It’s the only place to see unsigned seniors like Jose Larkins, where just about every college coach is begging for her services….sorry you can’t see these kids anywhere else folks except at the Maroon and White.

This man is on Mt. Rushmore of Coaches Jeff Jasper

There is coaching and there is coaching. The Maroon and White is the only place you can see true Hall of Fame legendary coaches. It the only place you can see two coaches who will land on the Mt Rushmore of High School Coaches….. JOE MONTANO(RBC) AND JEFF JASPER(Pascak Valley) of 900 wins fame.  It’s the only place you can see young coaches that have won a TOC titles do battle. Dawn Karpell and Lisa Kukoda maybe babies but there stars.  It’s the place where you can see the start of a new era of one the best girls’ basketball programs EVER, as we get our first peek at Dave Callahan. There is the miracle man Joe Whalen and the professor Tom Brennan, they’ll will be there. Let’s face it nobody has coaches with the track records of success like the shore conference. The Maroon and White is the only place where they all come together.

There is no question we are in for an exciting week. The Maroon and White is peek in the future. It’s a chance to start the debating about who is the best player, Coach, team, freshman. JAMES YOUNG has created monster, and like all created monsters, it’s the owner’s job to feed it.  So this year James Young  has invited a few outsiders to the Maroon and White and it’s just find with the shore faithful….because the shore conference loves competition, the more the merrier….which is just what every coach, player, parent and fan will be all next week….THE MAROON AND WHITE WAR AT THE SHORE.
