For three years at NBS, Emily Donahue has been matched up against her.
Emily has learned her lessons well.
Today, I believe Emily Donahue is the best pure point guard in the Shore.
And there may not be a bigger reason why Colts Neck is now a legitimate Top 10 team in New Jersey.
Colts Neck has become a program that must be taken seriously. They are no longer just a team people talk about. They are a program chasing championships.
And the biggest reason is Emily Donahue.
Because Emily is the ultimate leader.
She is the quarterback who impacts an entire environment. She is the type of player who changes a program’s culture. Leadership always starts with personality — the ability to relate to everyone, make people around you feel comfortable and bring people together.
Great point guards make their teammates believe in themselves.
Great point guards make coaches smile.
Great point guards know when to lower the temperature and when to raise it.
Why?
Because great point guards can read the room.
And nobody reads the room like Emily Donahue.
Emily has the entire package.
She finds shooters. She might be the best post feeder in the state. Go under a screen and she can make you pay. She sees passing angles that sometimes defy logic.
