It was a year ago that Stephanie Karcz had to play a game after the passing of her Aunt. She put on a show and Middletown South routed RBC at the WOBM. But the South team the next night against Manasquan appeared to drained emotionally. They lost big to Manasquan. This year they are faced with the same challenge of returning after a very emotional win last night over RBC.
A big game today that most are not paying attention to is Notre Dame vs Neptune at Southern Reg. If Neptune wins it will be almost impossible to keep them out of the Top 2o …which would give the shore 7 Top 20 teams….something most outside the shore will be none to happy about.
RBC folks is going to be a scary team come February. The babies are growing up and they will get Tia Montange back. Joe Montano folks for my money is a master at building team chemistry. The lost to Middletown South will be something for his RBC kids to use as fuel latter in the season.
St. Rose yesterday played the #5 team in the country and the defending National Champs, Neumann Goretti of PA. The score is of no matter to me. Whats important is that the St. Rose kids had a chance to play in a great basketball atmosphere against a competitive team. St. Rose is loaded with special talent and next year will have a real shot at a National Title. So yesterday was a real preview of what they can expect if they hope to win a NATIONAL TITLE. Luci Thomas has not hit the floor this season and when she does St. Rose will have a complete team.
RFH got its first win of the season yesterday. They beat a rebuilding Franklin team and most important the entire roster was available, with the exception of Michela McGarvey who coach Sourlis will not admit was missed in recent games against these powerhouse programs. McGarvey is a player that can play multiple positions on defense and not take away from the RFH offense. Nicole Morris is rounding in form now that she has had a few weeks under her belt. Morris was great in RFH’s win yesterday. It’s clear they are going nowhere without her.
Lola Muallaney folks right now is playing like a senior. She had 20 points yesterday in Colts Neck win and has been a offensive juggernaut all season. But the freshman who seems to be getting lost this season, is Jenna Paul of TNR, who is averaging 17 points a game and close to 10 rebounds.
College coaches are buzzing these days about Molly Weiss, Katie Rice and Katie Foos all three have seen their stock rise big time. INTERESTINGLY all three are gym rats. But I’m am not sure I have ever seen a players stock rise like Dezzy Allen who right now could be the best player in the state of New Jersey.
Anyone paying attention to what Holmdel is doing? First of all Sidney Caffaro is a D1 lock and Jen Inman is a talented senior who has helped Holmdel get off to a surprising start…they are 4-0
