SHORE CONFERENCE PRE SEASON: TOP10 / AWARDS

TODAY we give you the PRE SEASON TOP10 and ALL SHORE TEAMS. This year is most difficult to pick a TOP 10. These teams are very close in teams of talent outside the Top 2 teams. I certainly expect tons of movement through out the season. The new divisions will be challenging for some and making the SCT certainly will not be a cake walk. Now that power points will determine the Top 20 teams that make the SHORE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT.. not wins and losses. This will certainly force teams to play better competition late in the season.

RBC

RED BANK CATHOLIC– The Non Public “A” Champions return there entire team from last season. The have size, talent and experience. They are a defensive juggernaut and there coach, Joe Montano is the winningest coach in SHORE CONFERENCE history

ST. JOHN VIANNEY are the defending SHORE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS for the 5th season in a row. They will try to win a State Championship for the first time in two years. They have size, talent and experience. They are a highly motivated group and there Coach Dawn Karpell is one of the best in the country.

St. ROSE is not a deep team but they are very dangerous regardless. They have lots of scorers and players who have played a lot of important minutes in big games. They return there entire starting five. They have emerging stars like Brooke Missry and established stars like Jada Lynch. Coach Chrissy Hatfield has proved she has what it takes to lead St Rose to a championship.

MANASQUAN has lots of experience and shooters on top of shooters. They surprised everyone this fall with their play. They have enough talent to win the GROUP 2 State once again. Coach Lisa Kukoda has won it all and done it all. This could be a little bit high of a pre- season ranking.

RBR has a secret weapon. Any team that has JOHN TRUHAN on the sideline is dangerous. They have excellent shooters and size up front. They have tons of experience and are vastly underrated defensively. Everyone knows to full court press them. But if they can handle the pressure and get to half court offense. They are a serious problem for all.

TRINITY HALL replacing the Player of the Year from last year won’t be easy. But they still have talent and it is emerging. Grace FEENEY and Whitney Hobson will lead the way. Matt McCarthy is one of the best in the Shore. The freshman class has been a real shot in the arm. This is a battle tested fearless group.

RANNEY and Coach Linney have something cooking. They have two D1 player in Hayley POSNER and Power 5 recruit Ashley KREIGER. But when Michelle Steele becomes eligible RANNEY becomes a Top 5 team.

JACKSON MEMORIAL will take a major step up in competition. Coach Goodale will get a chance to prove she and her team can take on top competition. She has a talented team with quickness and experience. But above all, like their coach a real toughness. This is a team that may surprise everyone this year

HOWELL has one of the best front lines in the Shore Conference. Kiera McKown and Kylee Beam are a force in the lane and on the glass. Both can also score. This group is now ready to take the next step and make a deep run in the SCT AND THE STATES. They are a excellent defensive team and play as a group.

NEPTUNE returns there two stars Christa Ramos and Bree Evan’s. But the key to it all may be the arrival of freshman sensation Ty Howard. John Brown teams are always prepared and play hard. This ranking could improve as the season moves forward.
