Last summer Grace Feeney played with the NJ RISE U16 team. It was a team stacked with talent. Some believe it was one of the best U16 around. But sometimes coaches don’t always catch on right away. The NJ RISE did not get a mass following of coaches. What those players did get was lots of quality coaching. They learned how to win Chips. Grace Feeney discovered her game was more than that of just a spot up shooter. Ellen Masonious opened up eyes to a new world. The world of a complete player. That’s because these days. That is exactly what Grace FEENEY is … a complete player. This week in the Hoop Group fall league, she broke her full arsenal for all to see. The full package included every phase of the game at a level her opponents were not ready to deal with. In fact not many period are ready to deal with Grace Feeney these days.
Before Trinity Hall, had its open gym this week. I told a coach pay attention to Grace Feeney. The coach responded “that’s the tall girl that can shoot, right”. That statement would have been spot on 4 months ago. These days that statement is old, stale and without merit. That’s because Grace Feeney, these days is making a claim as the best shooter in the best conference in America. See there are shooters and then there are next level shooters. Grace Feenry is a next level shooter. But the real story is that at 5’11” wing player with a college body right now. Starts with the fact that Grace Feeney, now is an elite rim finisher off the bounce. Her handle these days is devastating. It’s that good stuff we coaches talk about. Not fancy moves with all the hyped up jazz going no place . She gets you off balance and goes to work on opponents, with precise and efficient dribbles. She can also put you to sleep with a mid range and new found dirty play making skills. But what really moves the needle is this… GRACE FEENEY fills the lane in transition and can pull up off the catch or freeze you and get to the rim. Her package is breathtaking right now now. It’s called growth and she is now the poster child for the word!
Grace Feeney, made her bones as a freshman getting on the offensive glass. Then last year she became a spot up shooter as well. This summer she has added the intangibles to her game. Meaning each year she has taken another step towards greatness and I use the word greatness because she is clearly moving into that rare air, that only the great ones breathe. It stunning and it’s not going to take coaches long to figure this out, once they start locking in on her. That’s because right now GRACE FEENEY without question is on that Short list of ALL SHORE PLAYERS candidates.
During the week GRACE FEENEY, comes to shoot at the Hoop Group twice a week with her teammates. It’s a bonding session and also a way to put her work in. The other times, she is in the weight room or with her trainer working on her game. She is dedicated and hungry. There is no question she has a PHD…

There also no question that she has elevated her game. She is proving there are levels to this thing. Her level we really can’t predict because she has made such leap and bounds.. nobody knows where it will stop. We just know Trinity Hall is reaping the benefits and soon some D1 program will hit the jackpot as well. But trust me that college is going to have to work at it and then win a recruiting war at some point. That’s because coaches are going to catch on to GRACE FEENEY, that’s just a fact and matter of time and you can be the house on that…So I say GOOD LUCK
