The 2028 SHORE CONFERENCE class has shocked everyone. No way anyone saw the development and rise in talent in the class. In many ways it’s shocking and one of the best stories around. They are a group that got very little attention or praise. But they have risen above all that and now own the spotlight in many ways. The poster child for the 2028 class is barely known by most coaches. She played AAU but it was not her focus and often she didn’t play in the LIVE PERIOD. But CALISTA VOWTERAS was FIRST TEAM ALL FRESHMAN last season and just may be the best two way D1 guard in the shore one day.

Calista VOWTERAS, just may be the best keep secret in the state. That’s no exaggeration. She is a blend of speed, strength and power. Her quickness is devastating because she never seems to be out of control. Her basketball IQ and passing skills are eye popping. She has a full understanding of how the game should be played. But there are two things about her game that separates her from so many other talented young players. Her improvement CRUVE is massive. Not only has she improved her shooting ability. She has turned into a one of the best shooters in the Shore. When you combine the fact she is a next level D1 defender right now. You have to wonder how is she not a household name.

CALISTA played AAU but mostly locally. She did very little traveling. Instead she chose to work on her game and develop that deadly jumper. To master her handle. Calista did something very few kids are willing to do today. She did not follow the crowd. That’s because she is confident in her abilities. She is a ALPHA FEMALE and we know alpha females don’t run in packs. What they do is play their roles to a “T” when they are a freshman on a stacked team that wins a state title. What they do is get better throughout the season. What they do is make the ALL FRESHMAN TEAM. See Calista, knew there would be plenty of time for the recruiting process. She knows that will take care of itself. She didn’t need to be glazed up, because when you have talent like hers. It will be brought to the light.

There is zero question in my mind that CALISTA will be the best two way guard in the Shore Conference one day. The real question is will she be the best two way guard in the state one day. I know this for a fact, she is going to be heavily recruited. I know the Sophomore guard will pick up real D1 offers this spring. You see CALISTA VOWTERAS is the real deal. She is not playing trick a coach, she not looking for hype. Her parents are not looking for the next best thing. Why? Because CALISTA, is the next best thing in many ways. Manasquan has a long history of of great guards. Lisa Kukoda has developed a reputation for turning out great guards. She gave Calista a major role last year and was rewarded by the young freshman.
