BROOKE JAENICKE: CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY JUST GOT BETTER!

Say anything you want about BROOKE JAENICKE. Just don’t say you know anyone who works harder in the gym. Just don’t say there is another player who is more respected by coaches and teammates. Because BROOKE JAENICKE is a dream recruit, and CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY is about to find that out. That’s because BROOKE JAENICKE just committed to the D3 powerhouse.

It’s been a few years since Catholic University has competed for a National Championship. To win a National Championship, it takes a little luck, but it also takes kids who completely buy in.

Kids who are more concerned with the name on the front of the jersey than the name on the back.

You need kids willing to do the HARD SHIT.

Brooke Jaenicke has been doing the hard shit almost her entire athletic career.

She was never crowned. She was never always given credit for doing the WINNING SHIT.

And she never complained.

She never needed the spotlight.

She was too busy doing something far too few kids care about these days:

GETTING BETTER.

I believe Brooke is the best on-ball defender I have seen in the state of New Jersey.

Have you ever seen her miss a box-out assignment?

NO.

She guards every position on the floor — from point guards to centers.

You see, Brooke has always done the dirty work.

When she is in the gym, I always tell my young players:

“Look at Brooke. Work like Brooke. Give 100% like Brooke.”

I don’t believe Brooke knows any other way.

She has an older sister who played basketball and, like Brooke, was appreciated for the way she approached the game. Her sister also taught her how to fight through adversity. She showed Brooke that tough times don’t last — tough people do. PAIGE who currently runs track at Trinity College is a junior distance runner who set the program’s oldest standing record (5k outdoor at 17:08.61) in April 2026. It was a record that stood for 48 years. Today her sister is at Trinity College breaking records and winning championships. Now that’s called history and GREATNESS, all wrapped up in one nice bow! . It’s also called being a role model. It’s call fighting back the haters with a pair of running shoes. GOD MAN PAGIE FAST… he also made her tough. NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND BROOKE BETTER?

So when Brooke arrives on the campus of Catholic University, I believe they are going to find out very quickly just how tough and competitive she is.

They are going to discover the ultimate teammate.

There will be no question where Brooke stands.

She is going to help Catholic University build the kind of championship culture every program dreams about.

At RFH, Brooke established herself. But she also learned one of the biggest lessons in sports: Not everyone is going to appreciate what you do.

And that’s okay.

Never bring the drama.

After a solid sophomore year, Brooke made a move to ST. ROSE, where she became First Team All-Defensive and continued developing her offensive game. And then she started to shine.

She can thank her mother and father for a lot of that.

Because there are parents…

And then there are CHEERLEADERS.

.Brian Jaenicke (dad), Melanie Jaenicke (mom), are Brooke’s parents

They don’t want anything handed to Brooke. Like her Brother Jack, who plays D1 Golf at Monmouth University. They just want her to earn it.

BRIAN and Melanie root for everyone — not just their own children.

They are much more concerned with their kids’ JOY than newspaper clippings or social-media attention. Nothing makes me smile more than when Brooke and her Dad shoot together after workouts. You see the real joy and love for each other. You wish this for every kid.

Her parents taught Brooke that hard work will be rewarded.

They taught her not to hold grudges. Even when tested poorly.

They taught her kindness, respect and how to give. I do a shooting session it’s $10, she give me $20 and won’t have it any other way. She and her parents thoughtfulness have no match.

They’ve taught Brook some much about goodness. They’ve taught all their kids this.

And if there is anything we can learn from Brooke Jaenicke, it is this:

THERE ARE STILL GOOD PARENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS.

There are still parents who believe there is enough light for everyone to shine.

BRIAN JAENICKE AND MELANIE JAENICKE ARE ROCK STARS.

They get it.

They understand what this is really supposed to be about.

And it’s only fitting that Brooke is on her way to one of the great academic institutions in the country and a basketball program with a rich history. Who knows when Catholic University will win its next National Championship? But one thing is certain:

THEY JUST GOT A CHAMPIONSHIP KID.

And they got CHAMPIONSHIP PARENTS coming along with her.

I tease Brooke when she is in the gym. I call her THE AMERICAN BEAUTY. She gets embarrassed every time I say it.

But the truth is, Brooke is a TRIPLE-B THREAT.

BALLER.
BEAUTY.
BRAINS.

And she has something else that matters even more:

CLASS AND POISE.

If you’re a coach like TRACEY SABINO, you can say:

“She is one of the nicest kids I have ever coached.”

If you’re a high school coach like CHRISSY HATFIELD, you feel blessed to have coached her.

And if you’re a trainer like me?

You feel honored to know Brooke.

Because when you know Brooke, and when you know her parents, you realize there is still hope for kids in high school sports.

CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY JUST GOT BETTER.

Congratulations to BROOKE JAENICKE and one of the best families I know.

GO BE GREAT, BROOKE.

CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY IS GETTING A SPECIAL ONE.
