THE SHORE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT..JUST GOT REAL!

The Opening round of the Shore Conference  Tournament kicked off yesterday and we got the usual. Mostly blowouts, a minor upset and  a near major  upset.

Manasquan  was up 25-2 after a quarter vs Manchester. Folks this one was over before it started. No need to go into the details

St. Rose cruised to a easy win over Jackson Memorial  by 20

Trinity Hall won by 20+ over Howell

RBC took out Ranney by 20+

SJV … let’s move on

TRN was Ocean’s County best chance to have a team move on. But Homdel ended there hopes and dreams of making a run in the SCT with a easy  win

RBR gave Ocean a real battle before losing. Jineen Ayassh once again was wonderful late . Kayden Clark was ICE ICE baby late from the three throw line. RBR decided not to foul the last 15 seconds and Ocean won a entertaining game.

Shore Reg gave RFH everything they could handle before coming up short. Senior Dylan Cahill saved RFH’s season with a career high 17 points. Rylee Drahos ends her Shore career with a outstanding performance. She has to be on one of the ALL SHORE TEAMS

There is not much to talk about after last nights games other than  Rosie Scognamiglio scoring her 1000th point We got what we a expected. A few blowouts, a minor upset and a few scrare’s along the way.  But in the end  like most years we got we expected… THE EXPECTED! The Quarter Finals on Sunday now that’s a different story.

Now if think the seeding doesn’t matter. Well guess what it does. That because St. Rose has Trinity Hall  and folks this is going to be a barn burner. A very good team is going home. Both teams are ranked in the state. Both teams are well coached. Trinity has the best player on the court. But St. Rose has the best senior. St Rose lost last year in the SCT; in this very game  to Trinity….one more time!

You think seeding doesn’t matter? Well Ocean Twp is about to find out it does. That’s because the 7th seed has to play RBC on the road. Ocean defeated RBC  twice in the fall. But this is the real stuff they will see Sunday. RBC babies are a major problem. Ocean has risen to the occasion all season when there backs have been to the wall. This may be a mountain too tall to climb. But haven’t they been saying that all year about Ocean. But this an’t the fall!

You think seeding doesn’t matter? Well RFH is right where they want to be for now. They won the Golden 6th seed and get to avoid RBC and SJV for now.  They have  pushed the hard schedule narrative to get to this point and it has paid off. They survived a major slip up yesterday. But Daylan Cahill was senior good and Raquel GUIDETTI  right now is as good as it gets. She has to get ALL SHORE consideration. Manasquan has been up and down this year. But each time they have played a weaker opponent this year. They have laid the hammer down in a big way. This will be RFH’S last chance to get a quality win in the Shore and it can’t come at a better time. No time like the right time!

HOLMDEL plays SJV, that’s a reward for winning a first round game? The good news is  college coaches will certainly be at this event on Sunday. My advice play the right way and enjoy the experience. There are  some rewards you rather not have!

The hardest Chip in the state to win,  just got real folks. Those  cute little Preliminary and opening round games? Well they don’t matter and  are out of the way. Now it’s big girl stuff and everyone  will need to bring there “A” game or go home…. I’m going to tell you by video SATURDAY night … WHOSE WINNING AND WHY!

A LITTLE  TREAT FOR COLLEGE COACHES

College Coaches why I say always recruit kids from competive programs, why? They develop..2026 RBC baby Sophie  Smith
