I will leave history to the experts like GREGG LERNER. But today I witnessed the best defensive half court preformance, in all my years watching Shore basketball. Today St. Rose did what nobody dreamed was possible 5 years ago. They won the SHORE CONFERENCE TITLE. They did it with a defensive preformance, we may never see for years.
Jen Louro is arguably the best defender in the Shore Conference. She has been known to shut the door on many great players in and out of the Shore Conference. Last weekend ELLYN STOLL, up to today, had made the two biggest defensive plays of the season. Today LOURO and STOLL’S teammates kicked in. Today the St. Rose starting five seem to be everywhere. Today there rotations were a thing on beauty. Today SJV had nowhere to go, Evans was put in a box and transition points were a pipe dream. Today St. Rose showed everyone what perefection on defense looks like.
THE BEST CONFERENCE IN AMERICA
While St. Rose was playing s suffocating defense. Jen Louro was acting like big sister Jess LOURO on offense. But she got major offense help off the bench from fellow senior Alex PENDERGRASS. She was sensation on the offensive end in the deciding 3rd quarter. The two seniors were the reason SJV will have to wait till next year. Jen Louro gave the Shore fans a goodbye present they will never forget. She started the game off with a daggers three. She never stopped throwing daggers all afternoon. She my friends was SPECIAL. Lucy Thomas, may not have the reputation of Kimi Evans but today, not only was she just as effective, but dominant at time. Loving Marshicano again turned into one of the best POINT Fowards in the state against the SJV press. Michela Markham, proved she was a first team All Shore player throughout the tournament. Today she made all the right plays. Ellyn STOLL was well ELLYN STOLL no hype just production.
St. Rose are the champs in the best conference in America and do you want to know why? Because Jow whlalen is a master coach. He took the criticism and never let his team lose focus. Now he joins that select few of coaches who have won a SCT. It took him only 5 years, after rebuilding a team from the bottom up. Today he is the KING OF SCHORE BASKETBALL…..ITS COMING UP ROSES FOR THE 2017 SHORE CONFERENCE CHAMPS.
